Actually....with lease plan you can.
If you work allows you to lease cars pre tax dollars.
With careful purchase and a high residual you can make money on cars.

My housemate drives a new commonwhore every 2 years and makes about an 8 grand profit selling them every 2 years.

But wont go into the long windedness of that.

Did you say you have tracked down all the parts you required already before?
That was pretty fast!
Good luck with it all cheif!

Cause I know I'd be turning down a car thats been in a decent accident but repaired... selling around the 20grand mark when you could just buy a brand new one, never had a stone chip for 24g's.

Buuuuuuuuut.... there is always fun to be had with projects.
From what the OP said there's no chassis damage so you'd never know, its not gonna drive any different - he's gotta get a brand new plastic front bumper which is the same colour as the rest of the car, a new radiator, couple of bits and pieces here and 2 airbags and a new dash-top. I reckon that's about 8-9grand in parts with the airbags making up most of that - at 1760km the car is still 'demo' new and worth a fair bit. I'd save the 4k over a brand spanking new one.

I did a jobbie like this once on my motorbike, my mate crashed it and insurance wrote it off and paid me out but gave me back the wreck!

What was important was that the frame/forks were still straight, the engine ran fine so I went scrounging around at the wreckers for about $1500 worth of parts and plastic fairings and a a couple of days of my own backyard-garage labour later I put it in the trading post for $3k and made an easy $1400. The guy who bought if off me loved it and thought it'd never ever been dropped. bahahah I never gave him the photos of the wreck.

I got the engine started today, left it idle for about 5 seconds and turned it off, thanks to Zetec20 & his brother!

The engine was ticking which is either the lifters or pinging because of the octane level (older the fuel = lower the octane level)

If I was to ever sell this car, the entire history of the car will be revealed with photos of the wreck and the progress and how much it cost me to get it back on the road.

Even tho I have been cheated in the past, I wouldn't cheat anyone because I wouldn't want to be cheated again!

The new car smell is strong to the point where I can't even smell my own farts!

Good to hear you have it running.

Before you put the airbags back in make sure the circuit is isolated so they don't go off when its being worked on. It can and does happen.

Airbags will be installed by Air Bag Mobile Reset Service and the module will be reset by them.

Here's a front bumper if you don't already have one lined up.

Dunno where you're at with the foggies but it sounds to me like at least one of em survived.

Both of them survived.

I've got a silver bumper lined up with that seller.

The dash is my only problem..

They're not too easy to find given that not a whole lot of 4 doors were sold. Keep an eye out thorugh www.carsales.com.au, www.drive.com.au and www.carsguide.com.au. If that doesn't work, then just wait a bit longer and check again in a couple of weeks. I do know someone selling a 5 door red Zetec.

If you can't find a Zetec... then you'll have even less chance finding an ST170. They only brought in about 160 of them ever. But well worth the extra money over a Zetec.

Use those same sites to search for one, otherwise some members on here may be selling their ST170?
