Engine no start - Checked fuel pump operation & pressure, all good & holds. Tried to retrieve codes from diagnostic connector in engine bay by earthing out & LED test lamp, but none make sense. Further checks found no injector impulse signal & there seems to be no spark also. (Common cause in case is Crank Angle sensor (Was replaced - No Diff). I don't think/believe the vehicle is fitted an engine immobiliser, as there is dash lamp display. Removed instrument cluster & checked if lamp was fitted & no provision for same.
Any Ideas Out There Would Be Appreciated |

Ford Laser = prior to 1994.
What do you mean by 2009 ? Obviously unless you can do the diagnose yourself, it will cost more to fix than the car is worth. If you have a repair manual and a basic multimeter you need to check every signal / wire loop all the way back to the ECU. By law in some states, there should have been an immobilizer. Cheers, |

Last Laser was the KQ and finished in 2002. So the vehicle cranks but no start? Have you checked power to the coil pack?

Check IAC valve, ignition coils, ignition timing, spark plugs, high tension leads, crank shaft sensor or pulley damaged also improper gap setting. EGR system malfunction.
You will need to use a jumper wire in conjunction with multitester or test light, you will also need the diagnostic chart to read the pulse signals. You will find the repair manual if you google for it. |

No spark, no injectors. Sounds like a classic case of immobilisaton.
A normal key won't start it, and if memory is correct, you will be locked out of system even with the correct key. (I think that system is a 3 strikes and you're out). Easiest way is to ring around locksmiths who know of this system and go from there. |
