Gday Greg, I'm pretty sure that the blue injectors are 24lb and are the standard ones.

The utes never got the 220kw engine - only the 200 and 185 versions. B2tfs is the 200kw version "tweaked" by Herrod. For an auto, it's not too bad.

My AU1 XR8 also has the blue injectors, as did my AU2 Forte V8 - the whole AU series did (maybe except the T3s).

Yes, but yours started out with a claimed 20kw more at the engine. It's not all about peak power though. Look at B2tfs dyno chart, and it has more power everywhere over stock. And more torque.

My bad - I went off the 2002 factor, and didn't even look at the ute in the avatar.

OK then, my reply would be different dynos and different operators, therefore the only way to compare the 2 is to run same dyno, same operator, same day.

A (very) small number of AU V8's appear to have had orange injectors. Not sure if they where 19 or 24lb/hr injectors?

But by far the majority have the blue injectors...they are a 24lb/hr EV6 injector.

Unlike the days of when the colour of an injecor actually meant something. Pencil or full plastic body injectors don't really rely on colour. The main piece of information is the part number molded into the injector.

Whilst I was working in the dealerships it was nothing to see a car with blue, orange and black injectors littered across the injector rail.

mine does have a bit of work done to it but in terms of mods that actually do give significant gains in power, its not that much different to yours. edit, exhaust and thats about it, the rockers, spacer etc dont really add huge numbers.

Yeah I would have liked a higher number on the dyno but the real difference is in driving the car, I can take on manual VY SS's and win.

Orange 19lb EV6 injectors were fitted to very early series 1 175kw engines - this was only for a very short time. If your mate has orange injectors in his 2002 XR8 then they've been fitted by someone and aren't original spec. Why anyone would do that though is beyond me.

someone might be able to answers this one for me as we're taking injectors, if I was to put larger injectors in and change the tune to suit, would I get the same type of fuel economy just driving around normal without being a lead foot. I mean would the only time the larger injectors open up more then the standard would be when you leaning hard on the go peddal. as apposed to the old carby set up where bigger jets meant more fuel right thought the rev range.

Technically, yes - assuming no other significant mods and the correct calibrations in the tune.
