You're 14, you shouldn't be behind a steering wheel unless its attached to a playstation.

1. Lack of respect of people and property.
2. Easy to get away, the law is always on their side.
3. Easy excuses - sad childhood, eg my dog died when I was young so I hate life...etc
4. Lack of discipline, and parents don't care
5. Lack of a goal, focus or direction in their life (I'm just another blob, my ancestors are chimps so I'll behave like one)

I'm not saying ALL parents don't care. There are responsible parents out there. In fact, I've heard parents say that their kids are a nuisance to them and cramp their lifestyle. Imagine what the kids think.

Yeah but like the scotsman said, i didnt say i was driving.

There are some things that young people do, like vandilsing stuff, they vandilised his car, unless they smashed it with another car they were on foot then i suppose?

i may not be an angel but i sure as hell know when other people have gone to far, and i know myself when to stop.

I deal with it everyday at work. Young punks running amok and not one can account for their actions. Sad times.

I'm not so sure it's a minority of youth either. These incidents are all too common. What gets me is when they do stupid stuff to other people, and for no reason, they still believe they are the victims. Victims of what? Society?
Dont blame me because you were born... :

These days parents don't know half the stuff their kids do. and that's almost always when/where they get into trouble

From my experience kids nowadays aren't disiplined (ooooh, big word for a 14 yr old huh?) and with things being so easy to get a hold of [eg: booze, drugs] it's a wonder why they get themselves into deep crud.

Just as well my parents didnt know what I got up to, except for the times I couldnt hide it because of the uniformed men standing behind me!
One difference is that we never hurt other people in our quest for fun. That doesnt seem to be case now. If only they could stop following the American ways.

For some (and I stress SOME) teens, the word 'fun' has no boundaries. As long as they get their kicks from destroying other people's properties and lives.

All I'll say is, "what goes around comes around". Sooner or later, you'll pay the price - it might not be yourself personally, but sure as hell, you'll pay.

i knew nothing of cars at your age and i certainly couldnt compare nowadays to the days of the older. are you really 14? do you turn 15 soon? what made you come to a forum about fords/cars when you wont be driving for 3 years time? i don' want to be rude or anything but you're awfully young to be on a forum.

edit: well you just answered one of my questions.

Age means nothing, when you have a personal interest.

She seems very mature, but as I said age means nothing. I know 20+ year olds that carry on like school children.

We should be thankful that we have another intelligent being, posting on here with us.;)

You see it when some young people get on the grog. They just can't help themselves.
Loud, Rude, Fighting, Destroying property, harassing others etc etc.
They just don't know when to stop!
I'm only 21, but I know my limits. I can be drunk, but still be aware of my actions and the actions of others around me.
Not enough dicipline these days I reckon. Everyone's gone bloody soft. Not allowed to smack your children anymore. Kids have too many rights, they don't have to do anything the parents say! They need a serious attitude adjustment.
A perfect example... The local IGA in town were lacking staff on Boxing Day. So they rang all the casual teenagers and asked if they would like to come down and do a shift on Boxing Day (Earning around $30 an Hour).
Not one of them said yes. No initiative.
I told them that if they get stuck like that again, to give me a call!

This doesn't go for all young people out there, but there are a few!

/End Rant.

Cheers

Darran

Well, i have an older brother who i practically always grew up with and my dad as well. and with my brother being mad about fords he sort of taught me some stuff i'd need to know about cars when it's my time to be behind the wheel. my brother is part of FFA as well, and i might learn about how other people look after their cars etc. so i joined here. there are some other young people here. but i dont think they post as often.

Yep like my brother. He is 18 in years only but has the brain of a 12 year old.

Tried to tell me yesterday that a VN engine is better than my EJ20 because it revs less on the highway. :

And he starts yelling like a little girl when he knows he is wrong. Typical Holden bogan unlike you though champ ;)

As for the original post. Well I'd have to say too many bongs and too much VB to be doing that sort of stuff.

i agree with you that people are making it hard to disapline your kids. i was hit when i was young and nothing happend to me. i don't smoke weed and i don't get in fights and vandalise other peoples property. i was taught the right way. parents who let their kids do nothing and get no punishment are the ones making it worse for their children. when i have children and my kids speak bad to me then i will give them a few good hit to the bum beause if they think they can push you around then they will think they can puch anyone around and one day they will mess with the wrong person and end up with a broken jaw. do as your told and be nice to people and 9/10 times you wont get introuble. there will always be idiots out there who will try somthing with a good person. thats when you get mad lol.

i didnt want to work on boxing day last year. i don't care about the money. i would rather see my family and enjoy myself on a good occasion to have all the family together. not everything is about money. i was working for hungry jack back then so it would have been 17 buks an hour. not worth it. 30 bucks would probably persuade me lol
