Default Rear Bumper replacment cost

Hi .

Does anyone how much does a new rear bumper end up costing , including labour costs (color matching, fitting etc).

Was involved in a (not at fault) accident recently and trying to assess whether to go private or give to insurance to chase.

Cheers,

Ash

If I'm not at fault I always go insurance (so long as I don't lose no claim etc)
Makes things simple. People get 'funny' when it comes to car prangs

Definitely go through your insurer. You'll need to file a police incident report too.

People have a tendency to offer apologies & reparations when they cause damage, but that attitude usually quickly changes to trying to wriggle their way out of it. Usually after they've had time to think about the incident & how it could possibly be someone elses fault.

If you can prove "not at fault" then that will be listed on your file but it won't change your premiums.

Besides if you go privately, get quoted one price & the cost goes up once the job is underway, then you'll be liable for the extra. When a panel gets impacted there's usually more to it than you can see from the outer.

I had a lady rear end my XF years ago, initially I told her the damage was superficial (once she'd turned the tears off) & asked her to buy me some spray cans to repaint a small section of my bumper.
The paint was on my doorstep within the hour but when I got round to fixing it I noticed that a tail light had most of its mounts broken too.
