Good effort getting half a second off with race trim Casper (guessing its tyres and an empty boot). Have you ran the car down the strip with the stallie yet?
Hamo was using slicks yes, there was no way he would get full traction otherwise.

The race/road trim figures are probably distorted a bit. The main difference is removing the spare, lower fuel load and better track grip but I would also say the calc figure from the track is a bit generous. Either way, its comparitive to other calc figures on the list.

Havent run the car at the track since the stall went un unfortunatly.. not long and I will though.

My 60ft was 2.7..no traction whatsoever, worst 60ft so far..Then it hooked up and went like the powers of p...

When my timeslip comes back and it runs like it did last last night..then you will have to believe it mate. I have the potential now to be at the top of this list with a slip. But in saying that I dont live at the track like most blokes do 500 runs to say that I have a 14 or 15 second car. They have more chance to get it than me.

That just confirms it eveb more. A 2.7 60 foot cannot give you a 0-100 in 6 second flat.. it just wont happen.
I run a 2.2 60ft (pre stall) and I'm lucky to get into the 6.5's or 6.6's.

To be totally honest guys my wagons calculated time from the 1/8th is probably the best it'll do.

The Gtech I used was really 0-60mph so cheating a few k's short of 100.

As posted up before average repeatable times 0-60mph or 96kmh are 7.1-7.2 seconds. This seems sensible but not all that exciting compared to a few CLAIMS.

Ugly truth is for all the dough I have spent on the AU wagon it will only just keep up with a new BF XR6 6 speed Auto which does 7.4 to 100kmh which I am confident I can match and 15.3@ 151kmh which I haven't done yet but think I might be able to given my last run was pre unichip.

Well read the posts and work it out for yourself the ute is heavier than the sedan so it will go slower than a manual AU XR6 by a small margin. Stock they would do 8 seconds to 100k and 15.5 for the qtr roughly. Best AU XR6 manuals i have seen run with no major mods seem to get 15.0-15.3 qtrs and 7 seconds to 100k therefore.

If you are running 0-60mph on the gtech then add a typical .4 seconds for the differences to 100kmph. If you get 7 on a gtech with 60mph readings then add .4 seconds and this is the correct conversion for 0-100.

useless - was that 6.002 a one off, or do you get close to it on any other run? If it's a one-off, then I wouldn't trust G-Tech. They are known to give false readings. I've had mine give me a 12.9 @ 180 km/h for 400m, when I know I didn't get over 150, and had to abort the run.

It was one off mate. But the coincidence was the amount of power that came out on that one run was just not describable.
It was the quickest I have ever gone in the wagon.A freak run to say the least..scary power which had me worried to say the least.
When I looked at the run it seemed to have captured the wheelspin reflected in the poor 20 metre time and when it hooked up you can see that the weight of the car got thrown forward like a catapult..hence the final time. This is not the normal gtech either it is the newest technology and is worth some 4-500 dollars. This thing has extreme consistency. The break up of the 0-100 run is almost exact each time!!(0-10-20 etc) Now when I make improvements they will show straight away it is awesome tool.

No confusing that run mate ..not at all.If I get that exact reaction at the track its gonna be good. The problem is...will it?

This is the same Gtech that gave you a 12 second 1/4 pass with 200kg of bricks in the back?

Definately. This is the gtech which gave me a 12 second 1/4 mile when I had not hit 60kmph at all during the run and could never be justified. But this run did do the time..no doubt in my mind.

I am running a 3300 stall converter ,3.73 lsd, dev 4 cam,pod filter jmm extractors,2.5inch lukely exhaust, modified tickford air intake, lifters which have all but been given a facial and massage, custom shift kit and I a trip to the dunny before the run..
My forced removal of the unichip has ticked me off and soon the au edit will be mine...

If an au cant crack a 14 second 1/4 or a 0-100 in top time after this I will be seriously considering selling all of the goodies of it.

This is what tipped me off. 1.1, 1.3, 1.3, 1.4 etc. The problem is that acceleration is not linear. As an example, a car does 0-100 in say 5 seconds, but takes 16 seconds to hit 200. The second 100 takes around twice as long as the first. This is a result of many factors - gearing, wind resistance etc. It's no different in a 0-100 run. You will start slow (2.7 for 20m) and then accelerate, but then there's a point where weight, wind resistance etc start to take a toll on the rate of acceleration, so you should start slowing down the rate at some point, but it's probably over 120 or 130, so is not relevant to a 0-100 run. However, until that point, the car should be steadily increasing it's acceleration rate, not keeping it nearly constant, with a dip at the gear change points (as revs rise, so does the power and therefore the rate of acceleration). Someone better than me at maths should be able to work out the rate of acceleration at each point.

Plus there's a gear change in there somewhere that should result in a drop of revs, and the times don't suggest that. I reckon the G-Tech had a small stroke.

PS (OT) - I won't be able to take the Unichip at this point in time.

Fair enough....first 20 metres of extreme traction loss and then hookup worked well. The accleration on that run was far from linear with the car going nowhere too fast then hookup forward very very fast. The rate of acceleration did increase after a point in a big way.

The time intervals between your 10km/h increments work out as follows:
00 - 10 0.5615
10 - 20 0.5615
20 - 30 0.497
30 - 40 0.564
40 - 50 0.646
50 - 60 0.65
60 - 70 0.628
70 - 80 0.695
80 - 90 0.601
90 - 100 0.598

That is pretty linear to me.

GTechs cant cope with wheelspin. They work on Gforces alone and, as anyone will tell you, as soon as you have wheelspin the gforces get all messed up.

The new gtech shows wheelspin ,rpm, shift points ,peak torque rpm, peak power and rpm too. etc etc..

Jc
the statistical results of that are linear..but normally the gaps widens in increments as speed rises .

http://www.gtechpro.com/accuracy.html

This is a tool above any dyno and gives me spot on times every time. When extra weight is in my car it typically shows the differences in times.
if I had this from the begining much of the guesswork would have been eliminated and the truth of mods and dynos would be confirmed as well as the outlandish promotion of products which simply do not work!!

My EL XR8, large pace makers, manual, K&N, 3.45: LSD. On a cheapy G-tech I have done a 6.00sec 0-60Mph once but i have done 6.1 and 6.2 a consisantly. It gave me a 14.7 1/4 mile but that was with a 7.4 0-60Mph (wheel spin on take off)

G-Tech'd mine back in July 2005. VCT Auto, 2.5" redback mandrel exhaust, pacemaker competition headers. Cool morning with low fuel.

0-60mph was 6.77s (was 7.15s before the extractors.)

sorry mate, i think i stuffed up. i put in my 1/4 mile time and mph instead of my 1/8 time and mph. how does 0-60mph in 8.2 sound? other than damn slow. :

NOT HAPPY, just saw this thread up again, tested my car and now after ford played with it the lowest i can get is a 10.3 0-100.

I had a dodgy fuel pump that started to oversupply the engine recently, got that replaced, they cleaned the spark plugs and did a diagnostic tune & whatever else. It has felt gutless down low ever since i got it back, they recon its perfect. Now i have lost over 2 second 0-100. NOT HAPPY AT ALL.
