Hi all,
I will be putting my car over the pits in Perth soon, it's never been registered in Australia but is in good condition and is standard. It's a '63 Mercury. Can anyone recommend a reasonable official car inspection place please? I'm not after one that does 'dodgys' or anything, just one that's friendly and understands older cars. Someone who's reasonable. North of river suits me best but willing to travel for a good one. Cheers,

Nice beast the 63 Merc!
If it's a personal import, pretty sure you have to take it to the DoT inspection station. if not, you can use an AIS, some of which are mobile which could be handy as you won't need a driving permit. Sorry it wasn't a direct answer Stace. |

It's not a direct import. It was on club rego in Victoria. I had a PM from a helpful forum member so I know one place to avoid. Good people on this forum.

Just book into DoT inspection center. Get a permit to drive to the site. Kelmscott is usually pretty good ( I know its SoR) but a couple of the guys there know the classics.
