Anyone know of anywhere online you can buy a custom "display only" number plate - as in one that is not registered and can't be used on road, but can be used at car shows and the like?
The reason I ask is I wouldn't mind getting some "RIKSTA" ones made for my car for when it goes on the quarter mile at the AFF Drag Nationals, but I really don't want that as my normal everyday number plate. I know there are a couple of people that do it, I have seen them at various shows sometimes around Adelaide selling their product, but every time I try to google for this kind of thing all I get is all the different states' various transport authorities websites and laws and stuff. Any help appreciated, cheers!

Thanks mate. I didn't think of the term "Novelty Plate" to search for, helps to have a fresh brain look at what you want and come up with an answer!
Appreciate it

Thanks for all the info people.
Flappist I've heard the story (more than likely urban myth) of the guy who got "NOPLATE" and ended up with a HEAP of fines, as when fines for cars with no plate were entered, they were entered as "NOPLATE", and all of a sudden the plate existed and pointed to someone. Like I said, maybe urban myth?
