Default Mk1 2Ltr Wiring Problems

It seems to be that when your 20 its all allot easier. 13 years later................?
Ive put a 2 ltr pinto into my restored Mk1 escort. The original loom is set up for a early 1300 or something that has a remote solenoid and regulator. Now the 2 ltr has a pigggy backed solenoid with a reg in side the altenator. Ive got half an idea but do not want to watch the 2500 hour restored car go up in flames!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Any ideas?

I'm somewhat amused - you say 2500 hour restore? Seriously, you'd rather ask people on a forum to advise you how to re-wire your car so it doesn't burn instead of spend the $200 it might cost for an auto elec to do the job professionally for you?

At 20 I could probably understand it; but 13 years on, I would have thought some wisdom might have been gained.

ouch - I think what he is saying is NOT that he is too cheap to pay for the job but:
a. he wants to do the job himself so he can say he did it; and
b. an auto elecy may stuff it up because it is not a common job and not his pride and joy.

You're probably right - I was most likely reading between the wrong lines LOL.

nuckenfutsmk1> Do you have a workshop manual for the Mk II 2.0L? Basically you just need to follow the wiring as shown. If you can't find it (may also be in the tech section on this forum but I'm not sure) let me know and I'll post the relevant section for you.
