I just wonder what he spent the many $1000's on.

5 speed auto at that kms, I would keep looking and maybe spend a bit more for a 6 speed auto with a lower km.

The XR50 wheels are a good addition though

Depends what you want.
5~6 year old Falcons are a dime a dozen, they are plentiful and cheap. It's a nice looking example, but the kms are a little high, and in my personal view its at the priceier end of the market.
Personally, if I were looking at a 6 year old Falcon, I would go for the one in the best nick with lowest k's for the money, regardless of trim level. XR6's are more desirable, but they are simply the base-model for personal buyers, and there are plenty of nice XT's out there.
I have even seen nice G6's, under 100k, for a similar price.
Like anything, depends on what the seller will take, I wouldn't pay more than $8k for a car with 150+ on the clock.

Before I bought the F6 I saw an FG XR with 46,000 on the clock for $12,500. I looked at it and procrastinated for 2 days and it was sold.

Would not buy a falcon with that many kms unless it was dirt cheap as Dazz said 8K max I'd start negotiations at 7K

I paid less for my G6E, which admittedly had more kms. It was a couple months after big storms wrote off lots of cars in Brisbane, including most of the car yards, so prices were probably a bit high.

while it looks to be ok , for a couple of $$$ k more there are some nice lower k examples, personally id rather fork out a tiny bit more and pick up one with a bit lower ks that may have less possible stuff wearing out in the near future and more $$$ to spend,

looking at the wear patterns on my AU , at 150/160 k`s on the odo onwards , things started to need replacing/repair, alternator, pwr steer pump, tailshaft unis ? oil leaks ? etc , etc.

Especially the FG 5 speed auto transmission, where problems are known to start to occur around these kms. Unless they have already occurred judging by the money spent on the car.

And six speed autos have no issues...
Actually go and look at the car and decide what you are happy to pay for it,asking what people think on a forum is pointless, everyones an expert lowballer here...
