Too late for us. We have already had our first service. Where exactly do they put the padding?

I haven't noticed any rattling except for very specific frequencies with the sound system. Are you talking about a rattle/vibration during normal driving or just when you've got the bass pumping?

The bass on the radio seems to cause a slight vibration in the door. We don't have the volume up loud.

They put some padding in my door trim to absorb some of vibration. Can still hear it though, so i'm getting them to check it during my 3k service on friday.
I've also got a rattle in my left front door which you can hear when i go on bumpy roads. So that's definitely something i'm getting checked out aswell.

Will do! I told them how I didn't like the buzzing noise when I first picked up the car, so they know about the situation already. But I'm sure they can somehow get it to go away.

Soo guys, today i was driving along the highway, and a rock flicked onto my windscreen, and now there's a small crack/chip. It's really small, but i'm obviously going to get it fixed. My dilemma is though, should i get the whole windscreen replaced or just get that O'Brien fix up thing? :(
I added windscreen protection/replacement on my insurance.

Bad luck mate! I’d get the glass fixed if it’s relatively small, they do a good job and it’s barely noticeable. Insurance will normally cover this too. Not sure of the procedure to get a windscreen replaced if it’s on a minor chip / crack but we all know they don’t stay small for long. Get it fixed ASAP, on my old Fiesta it took a few days and the minor crack had started devouring my entire window.

That sucks, really annoying when that happens.

If you do get it replaced, make sure you do plenty of research and go to a reliable retailer. After reading this poor guys post....

I've booked with O'Brien to get it fixed tomorrow morning. So looks like I'm just driving to and from work in the meantime. I'll see how it looks when they repair it, and if I'm not happy with it - then ill get them to replace the whole windscreen. I'll take a before and after photo aswell, just in case anyone wants to see the workman ship.

Hi mate,

Love the car! Wasn't a huge fan of smaller cars (had Falcons my whole life) until these new Focuses came out.

Just a word of warning about the O'Brien glass chip repairs - they do stop the windscreen from cracking any further but in most cases the chip is still visible (it was in my car). Plus, when it came time to sell the car it was knocked back for roadworthy - apparently these chip fillers don't make a windscreen roadworthy, and I had to replace the windscreen anyway.

Also - it cost me more cash to get a chip filled than it did to get a new windscreen (didn't have glass insurance like you).

Cheers,
Michael.

Nichol - Same thing happened to me on the road to Melbourne. Something flicked up from the car in front chipped/cracked (smaller than 5 cent) windscreen.

So I made sure my insurance had the windscreen cover and called obriens. As long as the chip/crack isn't in your line of sight they can fix it and not replace the windscreen. I can hardly see where the chip was after they finished.

The thread from focus fanatics is a nightmare I wouldn't wish on anyone. We have "apparently" got a fairly hard windscreen to replace.

Don't let water get in it or obriens stuff wont fill the crack.

Hope this helps bud.

Ahh, thanks for the heads up guys. I'll definitely make sure that the repair job is up to my standards. I did get told that the repair job does have lifetime warranty, so if i do notice a crack once it's all done - they'll replace the whole windscreen for free.
It actually did start raining today, but luckily i already had my car in the garage.

So i think it's about time to get some new photos up. Took advantage of the mass dump of fog in sydney tonight, which actually gave a good effect. Still in the process of editing them, but here's one i edited quickly...

The Titanium with SEP headlights are IMHO one of the most beautiful headlight arrangements. Just looks so sleek and sexy!

Oh it does too! didn't even realize that. gotta love the headlights on our cars though.
As for the foglights - yep, they're the standard globes. It's probably because of the editing, which is why it looks white.

This is a random question for anyone with the adaptive cornering lights, but do you guys think other drivers are like "wtf is going on with that person's headlights" when we make a turn which causes the adaptive light to turn on? hahaha. i've always thought what other people would think that's why.

Yeah the front lights set the SEP apart from the standard Titanium's
Regarding the cornering lights, I wonder too. Before I got my car I always thought the ACL's only worked when the indicators are on. I keep thinking of some relay/s in the BCM switching these lights on and off and once the car is out of warranty the relay is going to burn out and cost a fortune to replace.

Can someone shove a few tanks of E85 through ther 2.0ltr petrol model and let us know if there is a performance increase ?

I'd be very interested in the results.
Even better if someone could get one on a dyno

E85? I dont think the LW's can run on that. E10 is allowed.

Can’t put E85 in the Focus. Heck, I won’t even put E10 in my Focus…
