Default Trim removal

So, I've been inspired by a certain member of the forums to colour-code some of the black bits on the car...And since i suck at taking plastic things off without breaking them, maybe someone knows how to do it properly...

The bits!

The Black strip across the back bumper

The mirror inserts (which are painted on the zetec)

The door handles (I'm still undecided about painting these, being such a high-wear part, it might come off and it'd look terrible)

If anyone knows how to get them off, that'd be awesome...

RM.

Black strip across the bumper - get under the car and look at how its clipped on. A big long flathead will help here. You might not see it but the top is clipped similar to the bottom.

Not too sure on the others. I think the mirror inserts pry off from the outside, but you may as well paint the whole mirror IMO.

I'll get a good quality primer, sand the strip back so it can get a good bite in there, and get the paint mixed by S+S industries to match the factory colour. It might need a clearcoat as well, being a metallic paint. I think the cans are about $22 for a custom mix.

I'll post pics when it's done, not sure when it'll be though, I'm flying off into the horizon for work soon. If i get time next week I'll pull the bits off and do it
