As most people who were at tonights cruise would know, my fuel tank has a hole. It only leaks when the cars nose is facing down, so it must be at the front of the tank.
What tanks will fit to replace. My car being an EL. Will be heading to Jollys tommorow to find one, will EA/B/D/F/L all fit properly or will it have to be an EF/L one? Very urgent!! Thanks.. pEtE |

they are made of plastic and should be able to repair?

You can get epoxy tank repair kits from supercheap and the like. If its a small hole they will seal it fine, and last forever.
If its a crack or something get it replaced. Check to see it isnt leaking out of the fuel pump panel, or one of the hoses.

May not even be the tank. May be the pump seal or ring not holding the pump down properly.
The front of the tank is the large end of the tank, and fuel will shift at that end when the nose is pointed down. Its also the place where fuel will appear to drip from when the pump recess is full of water/fuel. It generally wont leak backwards over the tank. Id take the fuel pump cover off in the boot and have a good look in there first. |

a temp fix is to use a bar of soap
rub it over the hole not sure exactly how it works but it does.. alot of minitruckers use it when they accidently drag through a fuel tank (on the ones with airbags that are too stupid to use a fuel cell in an out of the way place!)

It works by cramming the hole with soap. This was also the way to repair a leaking garden hose. If the gap between your finger and the finger nail was the crack run your finger tip across the bar of soap and the gap will soon be jammed full of soap. same sorta thing.
I head the best temp' tank repair kit was a mintie lol |

Thanks guys, really appreciate it! Im headin to my mechanics this morning. Ill grab one of those repair kits and see what the problem is. Hopefully its a small thing that can be done today
