Just saw this, someone's up to no good,
But yet again, thats why you should always read the description.

Imagine this happening with Rare 'NOS' parts.
"NOS 4V HEADS"
Buy it now $400

Description
Just a digital picture of NOS 4V's

A few people would be clicking the buy it now button from excitement

Reminds me of the guy selling a PS2 box or something - not the actual console, just the box for it, bids went through the roof to like $400 coz they weren't reading fine print!

Hmm, I tried this and found 16 and 3 ads respectively. All of which seemed fair dinkum.

Did you just pick these numbers at random or do they have some significance?

Well, it seems the trading post finally removed the adds. (They were still there yesterday).

The numbers were the last 4 digits the seller used in their adds for their phone number. When I posted originally, there were over 50 ads by this clown.

Across all makes / models. all were nice round numbers, mostly $9000.

I saved 2 of the ads:

The 2nd pic reference was an uploaded image containing a name and an email address. No doubt you would be sent information from the seller saying they required a deposit before they would ship their item for free.

Or the guy who was selling the PS3 before it had been launched..

The description was that 2 + 1 = 3, so you got a PS1 and PS2 taped together to make the 3. Some people got too much time on there hands I guess.

Such people are maggots, but that's not his fault.

People bid and it stated what they were paying for. If people are silly enough to not read all details, then they shouldn't complain, as unfair as that sounds.

If you actually purchased that so the scammer had to pay for the sale fees would ebay still make you pay or let you off due to it been an obvious scam?
