Default Ford servicing $129 for pre-03 models

Did anyone else hear the special? I live in Adelaide and heard that I think it is until the 30th of March, Ford will service your pre 2003 Ford for only $129!! I have a 2002 AUIII in need of a service and this sounds too good to pass up, even if Ford are dodgy!!

Anyone else hear it?

naah i haven't heard about it, maybe cause im from Melbourne.

Anyway i had my car serviced at for from 40K till 100K and i found them to be a little expensive but they always did a great job. I think the normal service is about $160ish so this deal seems to be ok.

Ford used to have a service like this. The $99 service. They ditched this about 6 years ago. I used to get it donw on my EF. $100 I thought was good value for money. $129 is still good. Go for it. i never had any drama's before

Would be good. My ute needs a service badly.

My main worry would be if they pinched anything. Then I'd come back with a sledgehammer...

Just rang them and enquired about what it involved. Quote "A service and 22 point safety check, including an oil filter"

Hell, even ultratune (who I don't trust) have their 78 point safety check.

What do they mean by "service" though?

Going on that, doesn't look like they do much at all. Have a look at it and give you an oil filter.

I wonder if they charge extra for stamping your book or the ink
Final Invoice might look something like this

Service $129
Book stamping Ink and admin $326
Sundry Items $46
Gst $54.65
Total$601.15

Im in melbourne here and just heard it on the radio , allthough they dribbled some jibberish flatout at the end of the add , i think your car has to have previous sevice history from ford to get the deal / from the jibberish i made out ! , allthough im not to sure on that , but the special is defiantelly on in melbourne too. Allways a catch ! .

Also this only applies for a minor service which involves: oil change, new oil filter, check fluid levels, check lights, wiper washers and electric windows, check tyre pressures.. then recommend any repairs that need carrying out.
the $129 service only applies to falcons.

You could the same service from almost any non dealer workshop and pay that amount or less.

Yes, I know a heap of mechanics that change oil and filter for $20 labour (+$35 in oil and $5 for a filter) .. $129 is still a rip for 15 mins work :(

What he said, I can undertsand why you would pay for someone to do that. Dont you want to be familiar enough with your car to do your own servicing and checks?

Just had my 105,000 service on my XR6 AUII:
Service $60.00
Oil filter $11.90
Washer solution sachet $1.52
AU engine oil $43.45

Total service $116.87 + $8.00 environmental waste disposal.

The best bit was after reading some informed posts on this forum I got them to replace my rear shock mounts. It's like a new car. No more bumps and rattles, just smooth driving, now I can increase my tyre PSI. The cost:

Labour $150.00
left mount $83.61
Right mount $83.64? (why 3 cent diff)

Total $317.25

Don't know if that is a good price or not, but the car sure feels great to drive.

My Ford dealer must be weird then... got my AUII serviced about 4 weeks ago, and was only charged $110, they charged my dad the same to Service his AUI about a year ago.

you'd think the service price would be the same everywhere... odd.

C'mon Racecraft, you get it so much cheaper, but you don't get that special Ford logo in the servicebook! LOL! That's gotta be worth an extra 70 or so bucks doesn't it?

haha yea, but thats the catch with pre '03 models..I guess they are fishing for some more traffic in the workshops instead of relying on factory warranty compulsory customers?
