Default i blew em!!!

as some of you know i installed some 6" splits lastnight/thismorning.
and on the way home from strathfield (gettin new subs and amp)

my CD player was saying "protection" and wasnt sure wat it was for then the 6" splits died and didnt work. i cheched the X-overs for the splits and found this..........

ment to be...

is now...

-

The X-over had melted...?? and it was not on a hot surface and all the wires were in correctly. does anyone know what went wrong?
oh and i had them running off hy head unit wich is...4X50W...and the splits are 260W could they have been too powerful for the head unit???

cheers troy

i wired them with the woofers to the woofer spot and likewise with the tweeters.
and in the (IN) spot i had the original spekers cables from the stock spekers wired in there.
no only one of them is like that now..

cheers troy

I bought a cheap sansui amp from strathfield. It work great for 10 or so months then it blew for no reason.

They tried to tell me that because it wasnt installed by a pro that they couldnt replace it.

I got Dad to go in and kick up a stink and they replaced it. He's much louder than I am :P

I had an amp for over 2 years that always over-heated my bro was tellin the guy at JB-HiFi when he bought some stuff and the guy said bring it in, over a year out of warranty and they replaced it with a new one! Definately a faulty product, but the warranty is void if not installed by a professional, so that might be your only barrier depending on the people/company!

if your bass is too much and you can't pump your music with out it being distiroted then turn down your bass... nothing sounds worse then heaps of bass and you can't even here what song is playing...Alot of commonwhore drivers do it around here...

6cylEA: the bass isnt too loud that you cant hear the music its the splits are too good to get distorted at loud volume if it too loud the subs are freakin loud.

tabletennisman: i am running 2 X 12" 1000W kenwood subs powered by a 640W 4ch kenwood amp. soon to have 2 more subs and 1 more amp (sitting on my bedroom floor)

efgiar: i will defently be tripple checking everything this time....and i will run them off the amp tis time too...??

cheers troy
