The more you keep pushing me on the subject of a store, the more sense it starts to make, so cut it out. Cash flow HIGH, Brain matter LOW.

You tell em' pirteckgirl, if you other clowns dont like the banter, theres 4000 other forums you can look at. Why not try the holden forums, there's certainly plenty of boring D#cks on there that have nothing to be cheerful about.

Ok in all seriousness though, wouldnt it be a good idea to have somewhere you could go and actually be served promptly?

Wouldnt it be great to walk into a auto shop and find that they supply all those lovely little bits and pieces that are strange, unusual (and you know you want them) and a decent price, as well as all the usual stuff?

Wouldnt it be fantastic to be able to ask advice from a staff member and actually get a helpful answer or be directed to someone that can help?

Sheesh, I know I would prefer all of the above. So tired of having to deal with people that are simply working in a place because they have to, not because they want to.........

Does all that make sense or not?????

You are dead right Fiery, like the others here have said, I hate going to Supercheap, untrained staff, employees that couldnt care less about the customers needs and an underwhelming feeling of enthusiasm.

In all seriousness...

It wouldn't be great...

It would be FANTASTIC!

If anyone did the necessary research and came up with a good business plan, as well as being able to source finance, it MIGHT be viable. But there are already some stores like that around, it's just a matter of finding them. However, having said that, if a startup was able to start a chain of stores, and get a reputation for having good, knowledgeable staff, it MIGHT work...

Ok so it’s pretty much agreed that this is a good idea. So Phoon what are you waiting for?

I think that Kerri would make a fabulous manager and the whole concept makes extraordinarily good sense to me especially the bit about having it staffed by car loving women. Let’s face it everybody enjoys shopping where there is a pleasant view.

It’s also no secret that women have a fabulous gift of encouraging men to spend money. So another reason to staff it with a lot of women and also another reason to listen to the women who tell you that you are genius for having this idea.

Cheers, Tori

It would certainly have my business. Imagine a place that is well stocked, no matter what you drive and only employs people that love cars. Love the idea, sure I could find some money to invest (maybe not a lot but some)

If I was good enough at business planning and market research, and was sure I could get the required investment money to get it off the ground and be able to keep the business going until it starts to make a profit (I know enough to know it often takes a minimum of at least 6 months before any real profit is made when you take into account startup costs), I'd get started on it myself...

Thats half the problem.... I have a stack of ideas of how it would look, what would be the most important on hand products, what would be organised to have delivered next day for ordered products (if that makes sense).. and blah blah...
and when I read this thread the first time, the little light bulb went crazy...
BUT
sadly, cash flow zero...... have not any clue on what would be needed to find a backer...

The maddestman... the problem in this area is you have Supercheap, Autobarn, Repco and diddly squat else really (Im talking price wise too).... so a little (well not so little) store would do great business, which then can lead to awesome stores in every state........

Me too, not only would I be happy to work there, I'd be happy to shop there as well, even if I didn't get staff discount, just to do my bit to ensure the business stayed in business and didn't go bankrupt.
