Default New Mustang is on the roads...

Here in China.

A friend of mine saw one while on the bus and took a pic. Looks so out of place over here. In a good way. All my car loving Chinese mates are drooling over this thing too.

I think that Ford may have hit a home run globally with this one! Simply by gauging my friends reactions here!

Bring it on. I'm ready. Long time coming but not long now. No interest in the Fgx. This is new- fresh and different. Not boring and dated.

If only Ford had the engineering skills to make it quick as the R35 GTR... Ford sure have it over the Japs in aesthetics.

Who says they don't?
I am sure given the same budget they could, but who would pay USD150k+ for a Mustang?
Why does it need to be faster than a GTR? Not the same market.

Just want a car that looks as good as the Stang and can whip cars 4x its own price tag. Base model obviously doesnt need to be this fast, but a factory tuned variant worth 150k wouldnt hurt would it? Ford has nothing in this category unfortunately. . Maybe the last time it did, was the xy gtho.

Isn't the GT350R good enough? Again no need to go after the GTR.
Ford have the GT for supercar performance. Mustang is not a supercar.
Again, who would spend $150k on a Mustang to justify such a car?

Now do you mean Ford AU or Ford in general?
Ford global have had many cars out there, the Cobra R, the GT, GT40, pretty much any RS car and of course the new GT coming out. Who says there is no halo car?
Ford AU? GTF, XR8, F6? Not going to be able to compete with a GTR, you have to get that out of your head straight away.

Phase 3 was fast as a saloon car for its time, just about every performance Ford Falcon now is better in every measureable way.

Haha, he is a long way away from the rear of the stang compared to normal driving here! I could take pics and video clips of road (umm) 'use' that would make your hair stand on end! Actually just for fun one day I might just do that...

Did anyone notice the driver in the little hatch next to it having a look? The significance of that is simple. Chinese don't look anywhere other than 12o'clock (Dead ahead) EVER! Even when merging onto a freeway or turning off a side Road onto a main road!

I have just came back from a trip over in the states.. photos don't do the mustang justice. it looks even better in person, especially the GT models!

Can't Wait to have them on the roads here that's for sure... this thing alone will create interest in the ford brand!

Looks brilliant as drop top as well!

Over there 18 months ago, so it would have been previous model? The soft-top was by far the looker, and I am not into soft tops, the hardtop just looked a bit feminine really. Like you say you can't tell in pics, as the previous hardtop was just so girly in the flesh, but the ragtop really very nice. Look forward to seeing the new one in the flesh.

An importer/dealer has had them here in NZ for a few months. All LHD;

I've only seen them while driving past the yard - I don't think bright colours suit them.

That's a shame. I've always been a Falcon man... my loyalty to the blue dies with it.

But I will always hate GM, and never buy one.

That will be a sad sight. At the moment owning a Mustang is almost as good as a Ferrari or Lamborghini, exclusive. To picture all the clapped out, riced out or worn out examples that will be roaming the streets in a few years
