Wish i was going. I won't have my license back in time and no mates are going so i cant catch a lift.

Went to thhis years summernats for the first time and was awesome even though a bit pricey. Will definitely be going again in 2010.

The venue is just 26km straight down the highway from me, straight through 1 turning circle and 1 set of lights. If the prices are as high as last year no way would I be bothered going.

Warning to for those coming down the Federal Highway from Sydney (and other entry points), last year there was a huge police presence with caravans on the side of the road for drug testing, sniffer dogs and at least 20 highway pursuit cars both sides of the highway and stopped cars everywhere and every stopped car had dogs crawling all over it. I hear the same will be done again this year.

I came in and out from the Sydney way and did not see a single police vehicle (must be lucky or something). Heard there was meant to be full defect station where nearly everycar got checked and they defected you for anything they could find (washer bottles empty etc). I even sat there in the heat after a long day and changed a bald tyre on mums CR-V just to be sure i had no problems. before the 6 and a half hour treck home.

I left here (merriwa) at 9:15pm and was waiting in line to get in the summernats at 3:15am. Needless to say longest night trip I have done in a long time and into unchartered territory for me lol.

Was a great 3 days and caught up with a few fellas i knew down there (Andrew from HOK / Meguiars etc). Loved seeing all the cars out cruising and doing what they're built to do. Burnouts was good but I hated sitting in the stinking HOT sun for 9 or more hours. I was burnt to a crisp and thought i was about to pass out from heat exhaustion lmao.

As said before the price is too expensive in my eyes. $70+ just for a decent parking spot. Lucky i brought some extra dollars.

I'll give this year a miss because of my circumstances but i'll be at the mini summernats, the Kandos street machine and hot rod show. Alot less blow on the pocket and a more friendly atmosphere i think.

Most definitely! I got a day off as well. Though I work at a supermarket a suburb away from the place. (not Woolworths) I expect many customers during that period.
