Default Opinions on stripes/ads

We're about to place some ads on our BA ute, and kinda like the look of the GT stripes.

I'm not interested in having my ute be something it isn't, however that doesn't stop me liking the stripes.

I've come up with a few variations, and I'd like some opinions.
If you don't like them, please give some productive advice, as I'm still open for other ideas, keeping in mind I don't want anything more radical than what's shown. Subtle is good.

The pics can be viewed here, with a before and 3 after images.

http://www.equinoxaudio.com.au/carads/car%20ads.html

EDIT: I should also point out that the car is a little lower now.

Rick.

Stripes are a matter of taste/preference and I think anything that is not a tryhard prendending to be a GT is fine.

Doesn't look bad at all. Signing a vehicle is a little different to straight customisation. You want to be noticed but that can be done in subtle manner, which I think those achieve. Not every business requires a plastic Pizza, Phone, Loudspeaker or Arachnopod setting a corporate image.

And dont bother with phone numbers. Who has ever called a phonenumber because they saw a business vehicle in traffic. The will however get you irate calls from anyone you have accidentally cut off in traffic or parked in in a loading dock.

Some of the guys here on the forum can probably manufacture the stripes you've suggested.

I like the first one, the second and third are starting to look like GT stripes.

How about a solid black stripe with thin pin stipes above and below covering the whole side of the ute (similar to the third pic)? That way it doesn't look like you're trying to be a GT wannabe.

Also, how about painting the side protection moulding silver?

The third one looks pretty effective. I saw GT style stripes on a BA XL ute this morning, actually doesn't look tacky at all.

I'd go the third - I don't think it looks too much like GT stripes at all.

I agree with all the people who have said they prefer the first one, I do too.

Its a toss up for no1 or no 3 for me. You can get away with the stripe look seeing its advertising, seen it a few times before. Good looking workhorse sox...........

I am in business and I get heaps of calls from my signwritten vechicles.

Get the side "stripes' but the tailgate will get heaps more calls from customers.

Cheapest advertising available, for the loss of anon. driving....

Us signwritten drivers have to behave!

Thanks for the input guys, it seems that nobody really hates any of them, and most favour 1 or 3.
I personally like 3 myself and have since taken the advice of a couple and have body coloured the plastic protector strip (in PSP).

I'll likely be getting the stripes fitted late this week at a cost of $385.

Thanks again.

Rick.

EDIT: Re-typed 3, rather than 4.

I have a feeling they weren't counting the first one, so people were favouring striped pictures 1 or 3

yep, considering the first has nothing on it...

i'd go number 3, but with a color coded side moulding.

number 2 doesnt even jump up as an option for me, coz i think that if you extend the stripe to the front, it looks weird if it doesnt go all the way to the back.

they also look nothing like GT stripes imo

Yeh, I stuffed up and typed 4, should have said 3, and it's been edited.

Seems unanimous now.

I think they all look tacky but i'm not the one who has to drive it, it's all up to you so pick the one that you think looks the best. Out of the three to choose from though, the 3rd one looks like a winner
