Default Hunter Valley Christmas Lights

Hi Guys
Would anybody be interested in a cruise up to the Hunter Valley Gardens to see the Christmas Lights on Sunday the 18th December, One member has asked me if it was on again this year, so I will orginize again. It is great sight (especially for the littlies) with over half a million lights, I think it was $17-50 entry but I will confirm. Late events on Sundays are no good for me as I now work Permanent Nights Sun-Thu.
But it makes me more available for everything else. WIN

I'll have to sit this one out though.

If Sunday is no good we could head up on Saturday arvo (17th), for those who have to work Sunday night,
I also have a mate from work who wants to come up with us with his family, he is thinking of joining the club. Let me know which day is OK, I am easy with either.
Cheers

Sat 17th is good for me, but will the crowds be larger on Sat rather than Sun for that reason....

The original Sun 18th is also good for me too.... who else has a preference?

I'd say the Saturday evening would be better.

We just need to keep in mind people with kids that would come, Sunday being a night before school on Monday and a 2 hour drive back from Newcastle and a late night arrival back in Sydney.

We just need to confirm a day and a meet point.

Hi Darren,

Welcome to the club mate, I don't see an issue with you tagging along anyway, even if your application form doesn't make it in time, I'm sure you will be more than welcome. Hope to see you at an event one day soon.

OK we will make it for Saturday 17th December, meet at Thornleigh Bunnings on Pennant Hills Road (UBD 153 12-B) at 2:30 for 3pm depart.
Hi Darren, yes you are more than welcome to come, (as they would say try before you buy)
We'll stop at the Twins on the F3 for a toilet break & refreshments, and bring your UHF radios.
Cheers Wazza

Exclamation Trip completed - Hunter Valley Christmas Lights

Well, another trip away with the club...

Leasurly cruise, with other club members, to see the light spectacular that is installed at Hunter Valley, with over 1M lights....

These lights cover a largish area, and take a fair amount of time to walk around. We arrived close to 6:30, and the gates were soon open, to let us enter the grounds. This gave opportunity time to 'purchase' snacks etc, so we did not have a heavy wallet to carry around - if you know what I mean... .

The gates to the lighted section opened at 7:30, with a large wave of people all rushing to get through. My family waited until the initial rush was completed, and then strolled around.

Once all the way to the end, headed off back to Sydney, grabbing some supper at the big 'M' on the southbound M1 twins, and home not long after midnight....

A longish trip, but worthwhile to see, after reading the website, and hearing what others had to say. Now with modern electronics and LED's there is so much that can be done with coloured lights...
