Default Sorry all

Just a msg to say sorry to all fellow members.

I suffer from pretty major drug abuse since my Ex lied and took my daughter (no I didn't then) and made a fool of myself on here.

I'm sorry all and I make no excuses.

It's exactly how should be.

Unfortunately when high (nothing illegal) as I say silly things.

The Moderators have been fantastic to be honest. I'm in trouble and fair enough. If I'm banned I deserve it.

I can't guarantee I'll be around but I damn well want car lovers to be.

For everyone's comments and support, I genuinely thank you very much.

I know I have major issues (again, no excuses and I'm fully accountable for my own behaviour), losing my child has destroyed me. I considered myself a proud and responsible Dad.

In this very difficult time please everyone not be like me and do wrong things to "cope", so stay safe and let's support each other as best we can.

You haven't lost your daughter, you just need to clean up and find a way to visit her. At the moment she is the most important thing.

Just a quick update all. Clean since OP and whilst it's been tough (withdrawals from Drink and Valium are rough) i'm serious on change.

Had a real estate agent at house today to value and pro pictures taken. I was lucky as they had a cancelled morning as market slowed so much.

Moving back in with my Parent's for a while so I'm not isolated anymore, and can help them too if possible. It is not a rushed decision, they've wanted this for a while.

I make stupid decisions when alone, when in company I seem a completely different person.

Thank you again to every single one of you once again. I don't expect responses at all, no need.

Chris

Close friend has similar issues, being around other certainly helps, guess we're all social creatures that need others around us to keep us on the level and positive.

I tried to send you a DM last week, but your profile said you weren't receiving.

The first part of the process is to acknowledge you have a problem (any problem) and then you can work to improve on that. Best of luck to you, too many can't or won't but that is where you need to start.

This is a very good post.

For many years I had a difficult relationship with my elder daughter who scorned me, due to very complex psychiatric co-morbidities of another member of my family that I will not go into.

Had a few scotches a number of years ago late at night in front of a fire with my brother in law (he is English and is the splitting image of Boris Johnson) and he said hang in there- your daughter when she gets older will come to see the truth and that you have been the bedrock holding it together.

Now my older daughter views me differently, suddenly realises I work bluddy hard in a demanding job, am not a total looser, she constantly texts me, and likes sitting on the balcony with me having a red and jabbering away on a Friday evening with me.

In your case- hang in there, if you have been a good father, and continue to be, as best you can to your daughter even with the difficult times, it will turn around with time. Does your daughter have a phone so you can call/text etc.

Even if you are denied access that is not permanent- your daughter will turn 18. Just keep trying to be the best father for her in whatever way you are able and it will turn for you.

Good luck - I wish you the best.

Thanks to not just brilliant post (abbreviated - awesome it's worked out well eventually for you) above but all support, wishes, advice and experiences - have really helped me already see a future.

Just to answer the question - initially yes Court gave me access in person and phone, but every time I did and we'd go to park, pancakes etc and have laughs, I'd get a letter from her solicitor the next day saying my daughter was "so distressed" from my contact my Ex would keep her out of school for a week, take her to psychiatry "to cope" etc.

So i was advised under no circumstances to contact her as it's affecting her education, mental health etc.....all complete lies as we always had a great time, but that's the lengths my Ex went to cut me out completely for zero contact (aa she has remarried so.he is now Dad influence for her etc)

It's pretty sick i reckon but my Barrister said very common tactics used by women to get their children (and I genuinely respect women hugely, love my mum as great friend etc) .

I certainly don't hold any hard feelings to my daughter, as i know she is just being used "as a pawn" - in my Barrister's words. Hopefully one day after 18 I get that opportunity to reconnect like men like you have in time....that's excellent and encouraging to hear - I'm happy for you and others that get that end result.

You got to always look at the bright side of light, Monty Python as most would know.
Mate you got a daughter what a treasure that is for you and I could understand how hard that is.
She's no1 priority in your life as has been mentioned.
Your goal is being ready when she does come around and that she will.
asagaai's is a good example.
Mine is observing my bro inlaw having gone through a ugly divorce some 5yrs ago where the ex wife poisoned their mid teen daughters against him and infact his entire family obviously that incl my wife and then even me.
It was absolute bollocks for knowing his family (obviously) they are one of those close nit ones that I feel his ex was very jealous of.
He didn't see his daughters for near on 4yrs much if at all under straining circumstances just wishing to express he loves them dearly and wants to be there for them.
They were really poisoned and still are towards all my inlaws, in a book it would be riverting reading for you'd just shake your head.
The eldest now is 20odd and the other finished Yr12 year before.
Well guess what, they have come around bit by bit - they've realised Dad is Dad and they are getting there and becoming family again.
Its will come mate, you've just got to ride it out and be ready no matter how long it takes - thats the best drug the world can buy !

Time generally sorts **** out at least in my experiences so far, long story short parents called it quits when i was six and for whatever reasons my old man made it his lifes work to fill my young head with all sorts of crap re my old mum, worked to be fair, doesnt take much to sway a six year old for many years even though it hurt me to do so i wouldnt have a bar of her and wasnt until at the age of 34 i went cap n hand so to speak and apologized, she gave me a hug and said yesterday doesnt matter pretty much, hang in there fella ignore the setbacks and bull**** and concentrate on the future.

Just thought I'd bring this up. I know not an auto thread but many are affected, especially at the moment.

I read today Lifeline have had 3 times the volume of calls in last few weeks or so.

Anyone see the Kyle Sandilands interview on 60 minutes?

Sure he can be funny at times but seriously what a deadset moron.

Making light of mental health and "pranking" I found (personally, as a sufferer) speaking offensive and disgraceful.
