hey guys, just wondering what you think of the WII, compared to other consoles ps3/ps2, xbox360, i'm thinking getting one and want the best deal with games included with unit but half of them just have reduced price.

Wii's are brilliant, just get one, you will love it ! .

I have ps2 xbox / xbox 360 and Wii.

The graphics are not quite as good as the PS3/xbox 360, but the games are lots of fun

Runs out of batterys reasonably quickly but its great, you do get used to using it.

At times can be a little bugger and not show up correctly if you have the sensor bar placed wrong, but overall it works really well.

Just dont try to enter a 64 character WPA key into it :P

Good for party games, Wii Sports is great fun. But otherwise I wouldn't bother.

Wii is great. Wii Sports is fantastic with friends over, and the best games are coming out now, such as Mario Galaxy, Metroid 3 etc...

Get a set of rechargeable batteries and charger for the remote, and try to get it online if you can as well. Anybody downloaded the check mii out channel yet ?

they rock man, have PS2 now 3 and used to have an Xbox, Wii's are the go, just be careful of the light shade

Ive got one. There really cool. Ive got 2 sisters and its good because it gets them playing so it seems like the console just gets used more and gets the whole family involved. Which I think was the point from the begining.

I have bought a little remote recharger for my Wii and its great (you just sit them in a little stand and they recharge so you dont have to worry about battery life - I bought it from Myer)

As for the Wii is great because
1) Everyone can play - its very easy
2) Its a social thing - get Wii sports get your mates around and a few extre controllers and its great fun

I have a ps3 and a Wii, the graphics on the Wii are no where near as good as the ps3 - however the game play is unique and you dont care about the graphics plus its cheaper and a lot of fun

wii is fantastic. i've had 6 games for it (sold them all coz i needed money) but kept wii sports of course. it's always a blast and drunken golf is hilarious! i lost weight on boxing. graphics are disgracefull, but usually that makes the whole scene even funnier. waiting for smash bros brawl and i don't think i'll ever need another console.


although i did just get WPT for ps2 yesturday... played it till 4am this morn.

agreed mate the graphic on wii are no where near as good as ps3, i got both and trust me once you hook the ps3 to a true 1080i LCD forget it no game console can bet it.

Me either, you need to have a wireless set up from my understanding, I have the house all wired up so unfortunately I cant try it.

Yes I have been playing Call of Duty 4 - and its fantastic (it cuts the res down to 780 though) Cant wait to see some of the new games that come out on PS3 - plus they are bringing out Playtv, which basically means you can use your PS3 as a HDD recorder, so you can record one show and watch another at the same time

I prefer my 360 for "Real" Gaming - And obviously graphics -

When you have the Wii on the Net you can download old N64 - Nes - Snes games - and you can also get weather and current news

I find the Wii Fun for playing with mates - Drinking and what not - I haven't found a game yet that i enjoy playing 1 player - Sitting at for endless hours -

If you like Wii Sports - Mario and Sonic Olympics is a blast

Yeah you do, or you have to buy the usb--> lan converter for it

I have a wireless setup in my house and g/f's house, just havent downloaded that channel yet, i have the rest of the channels available

Won't find me arguing there, the PS3 loses sony money for every console they sell and is a poor quality Blue Ray player.

The 360 hasn't been able to meet sales targets but started doing a little better with the release of some truly good games.

The Wii was purchased by many people that normally would not buy a console and is reflected by the massive sales figures but the apparent lack of use. The abscence of any decent development house making games for the console for the first 18 months would have also contributed.

I don't own any of these consoles and never plan to. Last console I got was a xbox because it was free with a phone.

You dont know what you are missing.. they are great fun, regardless.

I just bought one after months of thinking that I probably wouldn't like it because I'm very old school lol, as in, I love the old NES/SNES/64. I thought Wii was going to be too technical for me with the wireless controllers etc lol. But I can now say it's awesome!! :

What I like about it is that it's not just fun, but it gets you up and off the floor/couch. I play the Tennis game alot and it's good exercise. Good for the kids too. Gets them active.

Heres what I've bought:

1) Wii with Wii Sports (inc nunchuck and controller) $348 - Big W

2) Brain Academy with Wii Remote $69.95 - Big W

3) Sports pack (tennis racquet, baseball bat, golf club, boxing gloves, steering wheel grip and skins for nunchucks and remotes) $34.00

4) 2 x White Gamecube Controllers - $25.90 AND Wii Classic Controller (to use with NES/SNES/64 games downloaded through Wii Shop using Wii Points Card) $19.00

Cost around $500 all up but worth every cent! It's the best fun!! Already have a PS2 and almost bought the PS3 but decided on the Wii at the last minute and glad I did.

Game or game.com.au if they have stores near you, EB, Harvey Norman, Kmart all those places should have them at a good price.
