Its hard to drive a new car well after only 3 runs.

I was running 13.0's and 12.7's to begin with in my AU, the last run I did for the day was an 11.8 at 120mph. It took 8 or so runs to get there and there was more left in it but racing stopped due to rain.

This car should be a very quick car with out any doubts, but I would have expected a bit better staright away. I do not mean to take any credit away from any of those involved, but we as outsiders may not be aware of any problems that they may have been experiencing or are even be prepared to admit to.

Chirs has run 11.2 ( ? ) @ 122 with 4 psi on an unopened motor, but his car has had several ( ) passes down the 1/4

My unopened Pursuit ran 12.749 on it's very first run down the 1/4, it has now done 18 passes in 2 weeks and they have all been in the 12's (12.508 best - 12.930 worse) so i would have thought this car would have done a little better.

I can't wait to see what this car will do in future weeks, it can only be better.

Well done to all of those involved.

um... yes.. you are correct. It's obvious you don't bother reading the forum much as you would have a clue as to who I was.
Reading all your posts, all you do is criticise... if you can't do better than that .. beat it.

l myself thought that this car would run an 11 straight out of the box even a low low 12 even in the warmish?? conditions.

But we will have to wait and see in the next coming weeks.

I'm just glad there is another blue oval car out there with mods having a go trying to tear up the dragstrip. Well done boys for bringing something different out and having a go. Congratulations.....

Agree totally Craig

It's obvious the car has the power, but as to how much Marv will have to tell us, they might be running low boost or a reasonably soft tune initially. Not everyone can be a gun on their 1st go out

Those knitpicking at the time need to realise that :

Why do we need to compare, we should be encouraging and getting behind the efforts of all owners and Performance shops, even more so with new initiatives for blue oval fans.
If these performance shops don't to the engineering and the the owners put up the cash, we wont see any new developments.
This thread is about CaptianMarv's TT, I would be walking away with a smile 12.1@120mph 1st time out, in full street trim with a novice driver.
Leave the banter for the Red team.

That time is a good time considering the developmental stage of the car. I think these guys were just testing the water to further refine the car. I have learnt the hard way that just because you put a car together with the right parts that the drag strip helps you identify and improve on the niggly bits.I think this car will be running awesome times before too long.

Speaking to George Haddad he was pulled over in his 10 sec 67 XT no problems, (as long as there still grooved) FPVGT (Alex) runs them on his XB GT, as does his mate with a 10 sec Torana, all these guy's run them 100% of the time.
So we can move forward from the tyre issue, I am wrong there not 100% legal as is any modification that wasn't meeting compliance on our cars according to Vic-Roads.

COngrats on another quick car, i still don't think it's showing it's full potential yet.

Is it possible the first run was done on low boost, it picked up 7mph and dropped 7 tenths in it's next two runs.

Not bad for a first run, sure everyone would have expected more from twin turbos but give it time Im sure it will show its true potential..but most of all it is good to see another BOSS out there wavin the Ford flag....

I wonder how many of the people who have bagged the times have actually driven a car with enough grunt to run a 12 let alone a low 11. Jumping in a car with big grunt and running a quick time isn't as easy as it sounds.

My first run ever netted me a 14.1 when my car was stock, the following runs where ИИИИhouse and the best run other than my first was a 14.4 I babied it off the line on that first run and tried to hard with the rest. I know my car has the grunt to run a quick time but getting that power to the ground is another story, first is a waste of time and if you hit seccond alittle hard it'll toast the rears without hesitation. I hope it does run a decent time this week but im not going to hold my breath while i learn how to get it down the strip.

E.T is nothing, MPH is everything, even with a novice at the wheel, the MPH should indicate power, i have run 14.2 and 12.7 with the same MPH.
The early runs of this car didn't show the MPH of a TT Boss, people know this and ask questions, they are not actually bagging the car, driver or E.T.
There is a difference.

things that need to be remembered when raceing a car, you need to get a base line first & i think a 120 MPH pass is a great baseline to start with

does anybody even know what sort of a tune was in this car maybee thats all they were looking for

from what i understand this was the guy's first time on a drag strip, how many here can claim to have run a 120 MPH pass on there first time out, how many can even claim to have run 120 MPH period

personally i think it was a great effort & an even better effort for a first time racer

what ever happened to "it's Ford it's good" instead of the constant "oh i expected better from that" mabee if people got behind those that are haveing a go it may help everybody that wants to improve there cars

Hi Rod, long time no see, glad to see you on here.

I think many people look at cars like these and say x dollars on mods, x power, so it must run x time on its first outing, and as you and many other racers know, brainpower is always first to the finishing line.

Its Ford so its good, and thats the way it should be. Good on him......

I know i spent x amount on my car and it makes x amount of power and i'll be happy if i get it to the other end of the strip without putting it into a wall :gren:.

You've told me alot of cars would run certain times and to date everyone of them has made the time or eclipsed it, i'll be happy to get close to what you think my car is capable of. Btw i need to call you tomorrow morning to.

Thumbs up

great work ... 120mph starting point first time out ... couldn't ask for more

maybe not next time but the time after ... it'll take a 10sec pass

I think it is easily forgotten how hard it is to work under the bonnet of these cars and get a twin turbo happening ... there is next to no room

well done again
