Default 3 Grand to spend, WHAT ON!!!

Howdy all,

I own an au2 monty ghia with vct.

Now, i have recently found 3 grand to play with. i already have a full mandrel exhaust, and am getting the extractors fitted this w/e (so call it 2500 left).

What to do, what to do...

bang for your buck is important, as this wot be happening for a while again.

My thoughts were exhaust, CAPA, LSD.

any thoughts please?

AU G&D Air Box, custom Edit tune, around $2k.
$500 left would get you a nice Camshaft need a few more dollars for fitting.

Get in touch with Chris at Blue Power i think he still has the special going on the edit $795 & then spend the little extra for a custom tune.

Chris at blupower 0438 351 351 or workshop 03 9305 3000 (can you tell which engines he likes?) this is as per his email the other day.

They are in melb but will send box empty or with generic tunes I think. For Sydney area, I think Autotech is in granville. XRChic and Cobra form adelaide speak highly of them and spiro is reknown in tuning circles.

Good luck and let us all know how you go. I have an intech 6 but dearly want cash for a tune to maximise my cam

I mis read your post. janek's quote didn't come out as a quote and I thought you were on the phone, and when you got off you edited your post, and subsequently beat me to the punch.

I just wanted to beat you with the contact info LOL.

What do you mean "VCT and cams are messy"? Have a chat with G&D, they do billet VCT cams and edit tuning.

Is it an auto? How about a higher stall converter?

janek,

Another thing to consider is upping the brakes and handling on the old girl. I have slotted rotors with ultimate pads (complete brake upgrades will swallow most of your money). Also chasing prices on whiteline swaybars front and rear as they are easy to change over yourself (as opposed to springs and shocks which can be done later).

Scott, I go out with a bunch of AFF and occasionally fordmods guys, and occasionally to mallala with the sporting car club of SA. (can't afford membership atm)

from what i have heard, getting a decent cam for vct is difficult.

stallie i dont want, i use it on the highway a lot, and really would prefer not to as im going manual eventually.

brakes are done. dba slotteds F+R, lucas pads all round. dusty but VERy stopworthy.

sways i havent though about...

Problem with G&D is theyre in melb, and im between sydney and brisbane a lot... its a bit far out of the way...

will put it up here just in case anyone else is interested, will supply the full kit (Front bar with lights, side skirts, dog legs, rear bar, and wing) for $2000.

Can sort out a cheap fit and paint quote for anyone interested.
