yeah mate you will do ok,maybe more so in mobile plant ,as some one has to diagnose and repair , replace components on big trucks and shovels etc,im doing construction on the woodside lng plant up here in karratha,i only work 6 days a week and clear 2300+ ,if i did every second sunday i would clear 2800+ ,others do the sunday, but in construction we do a 13 day fortnite ,i would rather party on etc,any way you would earn 2300 one week ,2800 the other, however we do 4 weeks on 1 off.but as others have stated you just get yr head around it make the most of it and make a truck load of money, simple stuff really, then you get back to where ever you are from, you are loaded and really enjoy every moment, well thats how it works for me,i have been doing this for decades, and now cant really do anything else ,give it a shot maste you will clean up .my son is just doing his first mine site job and he is only earning 1500 a week but his foot is in the door and its up from here, and he has no trade etc like you do,so go for it mate,if you pick up a maintenance job your rosters will be more user friendly than what i do,believe it or not we get to do 4/1,5/1,6/1 we get paid 32hrs on our week off for 4/1 50 hrs for 5/1 and 72 hrs for 6/1, not bad when you add all the other bonuses we get when we finally leave the job or get laid off ,which is a standard part of construction.cheers mate GO FOR IT YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOOSE.good luck, with the trade you have you will **** it in.

What area?
There are a few housemate websites. Just push that you will be away working most of the time instead of being that annoying housemate.
Also local trading publications have private rentals in there. Some are cheap.
Put wanted ad up on noticeboard at work.

Sweet mate , i'm more than happy to stay at camp depending on conditions?

Looks like Leightons and Thiess have just signed a 50 yr lease next to Peak Downs.. New Hope bought Saraji a few years ago and recently sold it...that returned an awesome dividend to the shareholders

Everybody needs to sign up now and get their qualifications /tickets ready for the BOOM...

What about buying a caravan and living in that?

Surely there'd be powered caravan sites around, certainly cheaper than $1500 a week, apart from purchase of van etc?

Well lets see.....

You have a caravan park in a place where everyone is paid huge amounts of money.

Plan 1) charge huge amounts of money for the sites
Plan 2) close it and go work in the mine as well

Or do you think that the mine workers should earn $squillions and everyone else up there should not benefit........

No there is no caravan sites either. The council are talking of changing the law to have caravans on house blocks.

It's so bad.

I own my house and three flats and asked to have another 3 flts added but the rural setting must be changed and the council isn't too keen yet.The way things are going it won't be long before they have it changed.

Locals {me** can not believe the change in the place and % 100 for the worse have not seen one encouraging thing.

over 130 dead sea creatures now a ban on taking fish from most of the surounding coastal area because they are full of disease what next kids full of cancer.

Looks like Daz is talking Mackay region?
Not many caravan parks and have been told (grain of salt) that they have a long waiting list and long term spots are impossible to come across.
Whats your budget?
Last 2 sharehouses i lived in i was paying $100/week for a room + bills.

Well if you had your choice of a room or a caravan site for $1500 a week, what would you pick?

no... because that $1500wk is for a house, more than likely three bedroom, enter three contestants in the big brother house... your share is $500wk...
give me a house over a caravan ANY DAY.......

Hot but dry.. very little humidity being close to the equator, Emerald copped the worst of the floodwaters last year..

I lived in Blackwater for 5 years most my holidays were split between Finch hatton gorge near Uengla (speileeng)70km's from Mackay and the Gold Coast...

I was a Ministry leader in a C.O.C christian youth camp in Mackay.

Actually humidity increases closer to equator. Mackay is more humid then Brisbane, Cairns is more humid then Mackay etc.
Inland is hot but dry. GF grew up in Moranbah and reckons its hot but not muggy.

Ok over the past 24 hours I have had a really weird experience with these guys...

MINING AUSTRALIA
Suite 220-189 Queen St, Melbourne, VIC 3000

Phone: 1800 774 306 - (8:00am - 4:30pm AEST)

VIC, SA, Melbourne: 03 9008 7891 - NSW, TAS, ACT, Sydney: 02 9037 8408
QLD, NT, Brisbane: 07 3123 6004 - WA, Perth: 08 6555 8100 - International +61 3 9008 7891

I went to their site, which now doesnt seem to work for me, and sent my EOI.

I got an email within an hour stating that they would help me but first I had to send pay a few, $250 or something. So I said thats fine, but first I want to ask some questions.

I said how are you going to help a student get some placement, they responded by saying that they would look at what training I would need first.

I responded and said thats fine for trades people etc, but what about engineering students, typically they are put in programs unlike trades. I also said that before I send some money can you give me an example of how you help students, and can I come to the office and talk to them rather than apply over the internet.

After the first email dodged the question, I sent another and guess what, its bouncing back saying the email address does not exist.

Very weird as last night I was on their site and this morning I just sent two emails...can they block me?

Anyway, anyone had experience with this? I am not following anything through with them as obviously something is suss, or they just want to deal with people who are easy to place.

Strange to say the least...up until 10 mins ago this was the email address I was replyign too....info@australia-mining.com
