2016 Ford Focus LZ Trend 6 Speed Auto 1.5L
Bought our 2016 Ford Focus 11 days ago. Since then we've driven about 150kms. We have felt a developing issue with the brakes and/or drive shafts, over the few days since we took ownership of the car. The RH driveshaft feels like a CV problem under gentle braking. Took it to a mates workshop for a test drive and put up on hoist afterwards. Could anyone advise what we're looking at in the attached photo, please? Any ideas where did the grease came from? 20241005_113016cropdmorered30.jpg |

Thankyou for your reply GTLEGEND.
I've had mainly Holdens and Fords over the last 60years, so I'm not familiar(yet, but learning fast) with this Focus. I joined the UK Focus forum to see if anyone there could say what is happening here and Tomsfocus replied with:- "If that boot isn't loose or split then I reckon someone replaced it or refitted it just before selling. If the boot was open for a while the CV joint probably wore excessively and this was just a quick bodge to get it sold." The car was serviced by a garage nearby in July, so we'll be visiting them on Monday, to see if we can get copies of the services done there. The sales Warehouse where we bought the car, told us that they serviced the car in their workshop, which would have to be since the service in July, so this is looking like it could have been a coverup. We'll ring the last owner on Monday too. According to the service book, the July service was about 87,300kms The sales warehouse acquired the car at 87,621kms and we bought it at 87,930kms; its now about 88,100kms. I just hope the warranty gets the job done quickly, we don't have another car now. |

Just to clear up this problem, it has been fixed under warranty:
New RH CV Driveshaft and New Lower LH and RH Control Arms. |
