where the bonnet comes down over the top of the lights and corners up to the grille is different..
there was a thing a while back on the forums for a special on a high series bonnet with a bulgde on it from AWC i think and after asking quite a few times, the conclusion was, that they dont fit on the fairlanes.
i haven't tried it personally but quite a few places, including wreckers have told me that they are different..
i ended up buying another fairlane bonnet and am going to graft the buldge on..
i hope that helps mate..

if i can find the old thread i'll pm you.

cheers
kris

have a look at the two front on pics, look at where the bonnet corners over the lights towards the grille on the fairmont as opposed to the fairlane..

In other words he does know for sure. But he didn't offer to actually share what it was that he knew for sure ...

Understand now? LOL.

I doubt that number for AUIII Fairmont wagon ... looks like another Ford Part's Catalogue booboo.

AFAIK all AUII and AUIII Forte, Futura, Fairmont, T-Series (everything ex XR and ute) is the same aka ER 16612 A

You would be unhappy if I gave you an ER 16612A for your AU II/III Forte/Futura or S. Like I said before, ER 16612B fits them. That comes from Ford's Microcat.

Either way the Fairlane/LTD bonnet is clearly different to the others as seen in the pics above.
