Default Dismal dyno results

Hey guys, had Friday off work so decided to put my car on the dyno. Did 3 runs for a comparison between 1.standard intake with paper filter, 2.standard intake with K & N, and 3. Intake I've made and shown in previous thread with paper filter.
Results
1. 108rwkw
2. 111rwkw
3. 112rwkw
all of which are dismal, I'm aiming for 165rwkw n/a by the end of the year but will have to see how I go as all up I'm looking at $7k

So apart from the intake, you've changed nothing?

That seems about normal?

It's a 6. You have to learn to live the ordinary performance.

Nevah... So much potential from N/A 4.0L's... Apart froma cam, my MOTOR is bog stock. 162RWKW, with a ghey press bent 2 1/2" exhaust.

But dont worry about dyno figures, they are only a good tool for tuning.

Seems about right...

Mine pulled 121rwkw with exhaust, intake, cam and tuning. I was thinking about it last night and realised it was a waste of money for that much gain...

Remember ... every dyno read differently as well.

The dyno you went on might have read low too .... go to another place and you might gain 10rwkw just by driving in.

Don't be disappointed ... just using it as a tuning tool (keep using the same dyno after each mod though) too see the different improvements with each and every mod.

I could get 150rwkw in my fairly stock EGAS ute ... just by changing ramp rate and where the intake air temp sensor is placed.

True test of performance ... 60 foot, 1/4 mile and Terminal speeds are a much better indicator of performance.

Put it this way ... down the track you might beat someone who claims they have 120rwkw (as they got their reading from a different dyno).

Depends on how you look at it, if you compair apples with apples its a 4rwkw gain. Either way I didn't expect a gain on the dyno from it so I'm more then pleased with the result

You would have to do at least a few dyno runs with each setup to get a true reading then avg them out.Dynos are only as accurate as the operator

Mate ..those figures dont mean much at all. You have good power there mate for what it is. Post your dyno sheet up.Also what were your air fuel ratios? I reckon a tune will make that car scream.

intake mods won't show their potential on power runs mate.. Drive it and once the heat soak comes in play your shaker idea will really hit its straps.

The way I've set it up I think heat would be more of an issue while stationary

I've hit 150+ already. It's a very achievable figure, as there are a few around that have hit that mark, and a few more that have gone a bit higher.

Yes that great but Dyno's vary a lot.

I can think of an AU XR6 manual that I raced who had 141rwkw and ran 14.7 and a 162rwkw manual ute that ran 14.4 so I would say 150rwkw is just a generous dyno getting you over the 150 mark.

So do times in manual vehicles with the same power.

Right, and I've had 150+rwKw readings on two seperate non-JMM dynos. On one of those occasions (an XR club dyno day) I had a higher reading than at least 8 XR8s (all pre-AUII.) You don't do that without having a bit more power than the average 4.0l six.

I know like everyone else that dyno readings aren't worth shite as a stand-alone figure and are only useful as a relative tuning tool. I know my car can be faster down the quarter, the only problem is the chunk of meat behind the wheel (no wuss-a-matic for me...)
