Great pictures, if I had to downsize from the Falcon one of these would definitely be on the shortlist.

Nice - I had seriously look at one of these but like most euro fords and smaller cars, I can't stand the centre stack. The lack of a centre screen bugs me now that i've got the colour one in the Ghia.

Nice car mate, and many impressive mods.

Is it a Whiteline RARB? Was it a DIY install?

+ 1.

We actually had a look at a couple of XR5 Turbo's that were / still are on the market...but I decided to go the FG XR6T in the end...

Nice car mate. I bet it's a heap of fun ?!?!

Yeah DZFord, it was a whiteline unit.

Took about 30minutes to put in. Not hard, just a few bolts, couple that were a little annoying to get at, but nothing bad.

Yeah this car is a hell of a lot of fun, the way it eats up corners is just amazing, specially when coming from my old BF XR8.

Also the cars it surprises just makes it so enjoyable, BA/F XR8's XR6 turbos, members of the GMH family, etc all write it off then wonder why a focus is infront of them ;) Pretty satisfying

I've seen quite a few getting around and they all seem to be in the Orange colour, very popular I imagine, but I'd have White.

Electric Orange is the lambo colour. It's an $1800 option!

ok, groops is now me...lol....yeah, orange is a costly option...but I couldn't go past it.....it's the true original hero colour of the car...and looks amazing when really clean and shiney....and when dirty it doesn't show too badly...

Yes Groops/entheos, whatever you call yourself on here did help / most of the work on the IC

Yeah it's the stock LS/T gear knob.

The LV got a new shape, and the new NEW LV got a shorter shifter as well.

Little update.

1) Tune: Now running a tune called Modx, bloody fast! Hoping to take it to the drags before it warms up too much to see what she's got. Just worried about munching a drive shaft :(

2) Now running EBC red pads with DBA 4000 rotors. The run in period was AWFUL. Whilst they bit hard, on low pressure, low speed stops there was the most horrific squeal (think big rig truck, no joke). But after 1000k's that has gone.

Now they just bite, and bite hard

Sweet ride Bourney. The silver is really classy. If I look at my silver CL and squint 'till it hurts I can see it looks just like yours! LOL.

Nice mods too. Bet she/he hammers, and best of all stops just as well.

It's an elite little club. You need to endure a long and painful hazing followed by years of repressed memories to earn one.

Actually, it's from Nova Ford up in QLD (Kaboolture I think). The head of their service dept is an XR5 owner fanatic and along with his team are aces with the XR5. Probably the most experienced fitters of Quaife LSD's outside of Europe I think.
He's also developed an exhaust system as good as any other out on the market which bourney is rockin much to my envy.

He's also a bit of a Military Aviation buff from what I understand which is probably where the skunk came from, as well as the operation being known as skunkworks.

I'll get up there one day

haha cheers mate, Silver isn't a bad colour, but it never really SHINES like the other colours, but then again it can get pretty dirty and not have much of an impact.

Yeah she goes nicely, certainly enough to surprise a lot of people

Peuty Tj summed it up perfectly. Service Manager John Barnes at Nova ford in Caboolture is an XR5 nut (IIRC 70+ XR5's from all round QLD go there just for servicing) and he was granted permission to have a venture on the side which has seen him fit modifications to the XR5 such as intakes, exhaust (Skunkworks own custom exhaust which I am running) as well as fitting LSD's etc.

They now have it down to a fine art and an LSD which would take a normal workshop an entire day and several chances of things going very wrong, very quickly, down to a 2.5hr fit (crazy).

Also it has just been announced that Nizpro will be going into partnership with Skunkworks which is extremely exciting seeing that Nizpro recently had one of their 5's run a 12.4 quarter mile... yowzer!

I made the trip up from Sydney just to get the exhaust fitted (sounds completely insane doesn't it, driving 1,043km to visit a ford dealer ). So glad that I did, John and the rest of the QLD xr5'ers were absolutely top blokes n now I get the nice rumble of a skunkzaust

ps. Tj you haven't come for a spin yet to hear the zaust

Edit: Hmm is this it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-UlGAucF5E

Plenty have.

Dyno, mine HAD 168kw and 420nm of torque on the old tune, but should be a wee bit more kw and more torque now.

1/4 mile it ranges from 14.xx stock, to 13.4 which was the old record and now 12.4 which is the new record but this one is a nizpro car with A LOT of extra goodies

Launching isn't the 5's strong suit, it's twisties and mid gear acceleration that blows you (and others) away, just phenominal.

As far as video goes, yes there is a clip on youtube, but unfortunately I don't have access to you tube at work, if the one linked is the one I am thinking of (guy annoucing that it is my skunkzaust) then yes. but even that doesn't do it justice.

edit: just saw which one you linked, no that's not mine, but it is a skunkzaust, I'll try n dig mine up at some point if I remember tonight

In that first vid, I think the first car is Bourney's old zorst.
I'm not sure about the others except for the last car. That's definitely Mikey's (Entheos) old set up. Sounded quite feral (made the loudest cracks and bangs) but was hard to live with i think.

He's got a different set up now
