Default series 2 and 3 xr8 differences

all,

i've done a quick search on the forums and couldn't find exactly what i was looking for. what i'm after is a brief summary of the differences between the au series 2 and 3 xr8.

from reading the brochure scans, the only significant differences i can see are the series 3 could be optioned with the ford racing bodykit, and it had the 220kw engine.

are there any other significant differences i'm missing?

thanks.

The late AUII could be optioned (like mine) with the 220 engine too, early ones got the 200kw engine. AUII Rebels had the same kit as the SIII. So apart from the kit on the SIII (the SII one is better looking) there isn't any difference.

SII got the 17's and the same front. You are right about the side repeaters though. SII amber, SIII clear.

just to follow up on this, from research i've done it seems that blue momo steering wheels/gearstick knobs were on the xr8/t series. with the red and grey being additional choices for t series owners to match their colour coded interiors.

Im pretty sure you could get red ones on the XR. I remember seeing one when I worked at Ford ages ago

Correct but the metallic blue was far more common. Red is more prevalent on SI XR8's for some reason.

Red was standard Momo issue on S1. Blue on the S11/111 XRs no other option was listed on the sheet for either .
