Default 19s on the 'lane

Hey guys

Just got my lane full body resprayed.... then put a new 2.5 inch exhaust on it and then this week took it down to get some 20 spoke 19inch rims...... NOW the problem i had is that its already on super lows all round and the tyres going on are 245/35/19 and when they were put on the front left wheel rubbed! I thought there was no probs with clearance..... anyway, given the paint is brand spankers wanted to get suggestions on whether to risk getting the guards rolled or put it on lows in the front......

The big thing ive noticed too that is the front end sits lower in the guard than the back, even on SLs. Will just the Lows on the front make it too high on the fron with the big rubber

Cheers
Alex

ps. These are the wheels going on....

Odd, I run 19x8.5 rims with 245/35/19 rubber and have no issues. Mine is on SL's too.

I'd get the guards rolled, since the paint is new it should still be a bit soft and less susceptible to damage from the process.

I'd be getting the guards rolled. Even if you work out why it rubs and correct it, still get them rolled for peace of mind in daily driving.

And please post us a picture of the end result.

im running 20s with 245/30R20 tyres.. ive only ever had issues with pulling the lip downward on the front guards from turning and going into driveways to fast etc (superlow kings and boge shocks)

absolutly NO issues in the rear

id say get the guards rolled

Those wheels look awesome, and a great choice for that car.

Car will have the bling :disco: with the right touch of class :

Like to see pics when done.

You may as well get the guards rolled as I have the same issue on the TS with 245/40 at std height. (for a TS) good peace of mind and as Russell said whilst the paint is still soft.

just wondering will 265/30/19's fit without scrubbing on the rear of an AU Fairlane? The wheels are 19" GTP's.. Cheers..

you can fit some mega wide wheels under the rear of any AU (both sedan and fairlane)

i got the same tyres on my 19's and i rub only on the front left, it also pulls the guard down when going up a drive way or gutter, to fast, other wise no dramas,

id get them rolled, i know Tyre power all stores in geelong just to new machines to roll the guards last time i priced was something like $40ish for each guard

cheers
