Default what to do with AUFALCON.COM

As many of you know, aufalcon.com is on the old FF server. At this point in time I do NOT have any access to change it at all therefore it is a dead site although it is functional (for the time being anyhow).
I am hating the fact that it is pointing to the "other site" and there is nothing I can do about that.

Therefor I have 2 options.

1. Leave it alone and just tolerate it till I can get it on to another server. This may be a little while away yet.

2. Delete the DNS entry and basically kill the site. Although I dont have access to the site itself, I control where the name aufalcon.com points to so I can still kill the site.

So I'm leaving it up to everyone else, let me know what I should do.

Casper do be aware that if you own the domain name they are not allowed to use it.They must shut it down.

That applies in the much better regulated .com.au domains.

If you have DNS casper any external link will poin to where you decide. Links from within FF can still point to the old URL. So why not redirect the dot com DNS to a .com.au site. The rest will sort itself out in time.

That's what I was thinking must be possible - redirect the redirect.

Domain Name: AUFALCON.COM
Registrar: ENOM, INC.
Whois Server: whois.enom.com
Referral URL: http://www.enom.com

thats the ownership of aufalcon.com they decide where its DNS is directed.

Do you have something like aw-stats records showing how many hits are direct entries? probably lots less than you think. and prime google as soon as your new domain is up.

Shane, cant we just save all the stuff in it, and close it down, and just redo it here?

Thing is, they are not using it, they have simply stopped me from using it. I can shut it down but untill I can move it to a new server I dont know what to do.

Fortunatly Russ had the quick wits to grab the aufalcon.com.au name as well so he cant use that either.

I just hate to see all our work going to another site now. I HATE it. used:

I have it all.
Yes, I can redirect it anywhere but I dont have the server to put it on yet. So its on the FF server...that I can not access (and expect never to have access again) or its nowhere for the time being until it gets a new home.

I still havent finished loading it all anyhow (not even close) but the starting screens should be appearing at least.
Ah well, teething problems, it will all get sorted soon enough I'm sure.

At least we know its pointed at the right spot.

I have yet to pass on the DNS address to russ as I'm not 100% sure what he wants to point aufalcon.com.au at. The site or AFF.

Russ, that would be the ideal situation and certainly one that I and all the other aufalcon.com guys would love to see.
I figured that, for the next few weeks, you will be very busy just getting th site fine tuned (although the site looks fantastic already, a lot of work happening last night by the looks of it) so we just wanted to get aufalcon.com back up away from its previous server.

When you are ready I would love to put it all on the AFF server, just let me know when. No great rush, RED_EL_XR8 has come to the rescue for the short term.

I’m seeing…

.au site – nuthin’

normal site – logo with .au written after it, and a couple of lines on the future relocation.

I have to say it seems a lot more “natural” for the site to have a .au website!

Well, RED_EL_XR8 has worked his magic and the site is getting uploaded now. It will be a long process (1000's of pics) but its on its way.

I will keep it as aufalcon.com as that is what it has always been however, at some stage I'll no doubt talk to Russ about adding aufalcon.com.au into it if he wants. Basically I'm just happy that we on AFF own both names now so there will never be a competition for it. AUFALCON.COM survives.
