Hey all,
I was having a quick chat to an old 4wd buddy of mine. And he gave me a good thought, i was thinking that for a bit of a laugh, I have a destroyed hub here from my XR8, i was gonna mount it on a bit of flat steel kinda for a reminder. How-ever he suggested that perhaps i could mount it to the steel, then i'll send it to one of the more regular members, and it could be handed out as a better luck next time award just for a laugh to those who may break their cars during a drag night or the likes. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sounds like a bit of fun. Id say it would loose interest after the first few times its handed out.

It would be a good fun idea, I reckon I should have won it at the last drag meet I went to lol.

Very similar to the fail trophy we have in the uni race workshop.
"The Boffin award for outstanding inability" The oversized, butt ugly swirl pot mounted to a cracked magnesium wheel center. Works well with mates in that situation. Don't think it will work with us. Cheers

Like Mont said, not sure how a person would react being given something like that after they've just wrecked their car. You play you pay doesn't mean you have to be happy about it if things went wrong. And not everyone has a sense of humour. Personally though, I'd see the funny side of it. Nothing like a bit of a laugh to cheer you up while you stare at your car's new look lol.

I dont like this prize. The postage costs for me and Stav sending it back and forth to each other would be astronomical, lol. On a serious note, I love the idea. I always have a laugh when I break my car, gives me ideas on what to do so it doesnt happen again. Plus most of the things I have broken have all been, WTF, how did I do that kind of things, this trophy would make me feel a bit better of course. I think most of those that race a bit would see it as a laugh, when they break there cars, they are always in good spirits. If you break it, it means your driving it hard enough.

If you drag you should expect something to break every now and then.. I'm sure people would see the funny side of it, not being to stressed over a broken part.
Monty is right with the postage costs however, could add up a bit and an unwanted expense.

True, i did wonder about the whole state and distance issue. Maybe if this idea was to go ahead then perhaps there could be one from each state. I'm sure most of us here have something in the shed that could be used.
