Hey guys just a heads up that undercover cops have been roaming up and down the roadworks all last week and again this week pulling people over for doing over 40km/h in the roadwork zone. I saw several people get pulled over today and two cop cars .
Take it easy |

Same as Frankston - Dandy Road at the new by pass near the overpass. Very sneaky.

yeah, sneaky but good!
I think its a bit extreme though, how they are dressing up in high vis construction attire and pointing the hair dryer up the road & nabbing speeders. |

40klms when workers are there and then 60klms or above when they are not.
One reason people speed through road works is that the road workers dont take the signs down when they are not working because they are TOO LAZY. The signs are even still up months after they have finished. My 2 cents, but yeah nab the speeders..............

Personally I think its good, I'm sick of people up my *** because I do the speed limits in roadwork zones. I think 40 something is OK but going over 50km/h where people are working is pretty careless and stupid. They're people just like us.

I think it's beautiful that cops are hanging around roadwork areas. I couldn't think of a better place to set up speed cameras. Hopefully it'll stop some of the idiots that fang past workers and bring the whole concept of "endangering others" to such greater heights.
Beats sticking them at the bottom of hills. And DRHEMI, if roadworkers leave a site and don't take down speed adjustment signs then it'll either be because the section of road is not suitable to return to original speed or, as you stated, because the workers are too lazy to take them down. If the signs are up, do the speed limit. Otherwise, you're breaking the law and possibly causing risk. Don't think the signs should be up? Call VicRoads. If the signs aren't meant to be up, VicRoads will fine the workers for breaching conditions of the Memorandum Of Consent. I guarantee after a $2500 fine that those signs won't be left up outside of appropriate times again. Either that, or they were meant to be up where they were.

Aren't they meant to wear those yellow/orange reflective things when they are doing traffic stops anyway? I agree with them being in the road works, its one of the few places their toys might actually save a few lives.

if anyone wants to whinge about either getting booked for speeding through roadworks, or the measures cops are going to so they can cath speeding cars..... maybe you should try working on a road crew and getting bit by stones and gravel kicked up by inconsiderate, impatient retards

yeah its just like out the front of my school, its the end of a highway, 4 lane, almost everyday the cops are out there, about one min after i step out i see some toss go about 60 out the front then i see a ve ss patrol car go past and plant it once past the school, another time there were 4 cop cars patroling and they were all gone in about 10 mins, its good entertainment after a long day at school! and another day i saw someone go about 90 just as i stepped out the gate and about 10 secs later hear see a cop go about 80 past but when gets past floors it, sounds unreal! but it is just absolutely stupid that people consider speeding past schools with about 70 ppl waiting for parents and anyone could get hit! btw none of the people i have seen are P platers, they always go the right speed out the front.
