Yeah, if it hadn't been shut down I'd be up for one, unfortunately that's the way it goes these days though :(

What I REALLY would like is an invite to Waffles (http://waffles.fm/) to fill the void that Oink going down has created... if anyone actually has an invite I would be extremely appreciative!

It'll be back. The trackers are still working, they're likely looking for somewhere that it can be relocated so they don't get hassled again.

Private sites are better because people need to maintain ratios or risk being banned - the public ones like mininova there's no REAL incentive for people to seed, so you find a lot of people download the torrent then just disappear without seeding it.

Plus a lot of stuff hits private trackers first, before moving on to the public ones.

I always found OiNK would just about max out my connection, whereas mininova and the like are lucky to get half the capable speed.

I always try to keep my ratio to 1.0.

What other sites are still out there?

Anyone ever had any trouble with their ISP around downloadng content?

The pirate bay is still ok, not fantastic but if you sift through there is still quite a bit of content.
