Heard about that, since I don't own a TV myself (I watch all my DVDs etc through my pc) I'll probably get my parents to use their DVD recorder to grab it.

I believe the showing has been postponed because the family of a man murdered by a Melbourne gangster, believe their brother, who was shot, is being prtrayed in the movie unfairly. In other words, they say he was a top bloke but the way he was portrayed in the movie was anything but a top guy.
They must have been successful in getting their injunction to stop the show going to air.
Does that make sense?

Yeah, that makes sense, I also believe its being postponed so it doesn't influence any potential jurors in the case.

I'm also under the impression that Victoria is the only state having the transmission postponed...unless something changed in the meantime.

Could be right. The way I read it, it was to stop channel 9 stations from airing it on Wednesday night. Stations being plural.
But yeah, if it is just Melbourne then someone can help out with a recording.

Underbelly is only not being shown in Victoria. ALL other states are getting it.

It will be on the usual sources (both domestic and international), so in Victoria, there is no reason why you can't see it.

I've seen the first few episodes - for those who get to see it, it looks like an awesome mini-series! It shouldn't disappoint...

Vic screening is being held off by a court order till after a court trial, they believed its screening might influence a jury....

Yes.....only nice guys were ever shot to death by organised crime figures.

In the late 20th and early 21st century it astounds me that the justice system are so naive that the thought of a juror being influenced by a mini-series about the same people that are on trial stops broadcast. A couple of questions then:

1. Why was the mini-series allowed to be made prior to the trial's conclusion?

2. Have they not heard of the internet?

Mix a little human curiosity with Google and all other courses of actionare made redundant, unless the jury is sequestered (in which case media access is generally controlled isn't it?).

I'm in vic and cannot wait to see it.

Channel 9 are milking the free publicity for all it is worth...very cunning to create a legal bru ha ha about the series.

I will be doing internet searches to find it in the coming days...I doubt I will have much trouble.

he used to own a business about 200m from my house, and my mums best friend used to work for him(office lady) and my mum has met him, she told me last night and i was surprised. fair go, and it just seems weird that someone who used to own a business around this area turned out to be like that, how is it that they are portraying him?

5:30 news says it's still on in other states and I'm sure Victorians will be able to get hold of copies before too long.
