NASA was holding a competition for the chance to name the new space station node and invited people to vote or enter suggestions. Stephen Colbert on his show asked people to write in the suggest Colbert to name the node after him.
Well - he got the most suggestions but NASA decided to over-rule the poll and name it tranquillity. However in the spirit of it, they did name something after Colbert... the 'Combined Operational Load Bearing External Resistance Treadmill,' or COLBERT. Take that Colbert - owned by NASA nerds haha! http://www.nasa.gov/externalflash/name_ISS/index.html |

Its actually Colbert who owned NASA.
Its also kind of sad that they even released a vote for what it should be called... He won the votes, so call it Colbert. But NASA want to call it something dreamy and cool like "tranquillity". |
