Default Can you get inside a Headlight

. . So I'm standing in front of my car yesterday talking to another Focus person and he says to me . . he says . . "You know Fredo, if you could paint the silver bits inside your headlight black that would look quite cool".

The question is - Can it be done? Is it possible to get inside the unit to paint bits black?

Anyone know?

Fredo

You can but you need to be really little.

*Ahem*

Seriously, There's been threads on it before but in my opinion it's not really worth it. You have to unglue things that aren't supposed to come unglued.

IMO, you're better off in the long run to hunt around some wreckers or ebay (or ford parts as a last and pricey last resort) and try and get a hold of a set of LT zetec lights. They're already black!! And look pretty s**** too.

I'd post a link to a how to (there was one recently by a guy with a fiesta) but I'm on an iPhone and you can't copy paste on em.

The South African built headlights use a special sealant that does not come apart no matter how hot you make the unit.

I've got in there a different way by cutting out the middle support beam when you take the back headlight cover off. Then after a lot of manovering and scratched reflectors they come out. Not worth it IMO.
