Default Nice Watches

There is a thread about big bills in which watches came up and the servicing thereof ( yes good watches do need servicing ). Watches are a real passion of mine and I have a couple of nice ones . Just curious if any other tragic watchophiles have any nice watches .

I have an

Omega Speedmaster 2 1861 calibre 1969 model ( Moon watch , the only watch approved by NASA for space missions .
http://www.omegawatches.com/gents/sp...r/professional
http://www.omegawatches.com/spirit/p...master-history

Breitling Skyracer ( Raven ) calibre 27 .
http://www.breitling.com/en/index.ph...kyracer-raven/

Everyday watch is one of the Mazda Rotary Watches Mazda had made to celebrate the Le Mans Victory back in 1991 .

I bought this as an everyday watch.
I asked the misses to get me one for my 30th, we went to the shop and I said 'that'd look nice after its been around a few engine bays.

she never bought it :/

I had to get one myself, and to think what her ring costs :/

I still haven't had it serviced, it currently looses 4sec/day.

I have an Omega Speedmaster 125 Centenary model. Only 2000 were made so how many came to Australia would be any one's guess. I expect a handful at most.

Rolex Submariner with Date. Will keep this one forever due to sentimental value.

http://www.ewatchshow.com/newest/wat...08124546_1.jpg

Also had an Omega Speedmaster Chrono - Solid Gold Bezel but offloaded that a few years back and broke even after nearly a decade of ownership....

Was very close to buying an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore or a Jaeger Master Compressor Extreme World Chronograph back in 2007......but bought another property instead and treated myself to the Fairlane!

I seem to inherit watches, A gold Pulsar from my nonno recently.
And this one that my other Grandad got from the Air Force after the Vietnam war. As he was a fighter pilot it has the years of service, his name and rank engraved on the back. Sad to be writing this...
It's at my fathers place but i'll get a pic of the genuine article it is however, the same as this...

Here's a watch that my grandfather gave to my missus. Its a Ladies Swiss Cymaflex Watch. It is solid 18k white gold and all the diamonds are VS1 clarity and colour D...all up around 1.02Ct I think it is. It belonged to my grandfathers mother and is from around the 1940's. Nice watch....lucky missus!!

I've got a couple.

My favourite is my Laco Flieger - Type B (navigator) dial.
https://shop.laco.de/de/Fliegeruhr/F...omatik-36.html

Laco were one of the manufactures of the original Flieger along with IWC and Stowa.

Next watch will be a Stowa Marine Original. Probably get a IWC after that.

Lots of great watches out there if you look past the usual Tags and Oris....I particularly love German.

Default Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon

Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon Ref. 5002 P

Price: $1.49 million (1,06 million EUR)

The most expensive modern wristwatch

Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon Ref. 5002 PA platinum Patek
Philippe tourbillon watch became the most expensive modern wristwatch to be sold at auction when it fetched HK$11.75 million ($1.49 million) in Hong Kong on April 10, 2008.

The "Ref. 5002 P Sky Moon Tourbillon" wristwatch with a double dial is considered the most complicated wristwatch ever produced by the renowned Swiss watchmaker. Only two such watches are made every year, one in platinum and one in rose gold. The watch, made in 2003, was bought by an Asian private buyer at the Sotheby's auction.

I have a Rolex Sea Dweller - water resistant to 4000ft

http://www.rolex.com/en#/rolex-watch...l-m116660-0001

My father had 7 children. Each of us was given the same watch when we turned 18.

He gave his last one to my little brother over 12 years ago but never got himself another one. On his 60th birthday, all 7 of us children chipped in to buy him one in return.

When we presented it to him on his birthday, he had absolutely no idea. He was in total shock and had no words and even if he had some, he was too choked up to speak. He just looked at it and tears came to his eyes and he just hugged each of us from youngest to oldest...it was a beautiful moment. I get choked up just remembering it.

So yeah, the Rolex sea dweller has a special place in my heart. It's my every day-er.
