Default Festiva 95 dash lights issue

hey everyone i have a 95 festiva, the charge light and the handbrake lights are always on but get dimmer and brighter as i drive, if i come to a complete stop they go off (unless i use the handbrake) then when im driving they get brighter its very wierd any one had any similar issues ?

Sounds like the alternator needs replacing.
