Default Sat Nav Maps

Hi,

one form member has solved my dilema re turning off the voice in Sat Nav (2008 G6) which i am great ful for.... if i heard her say "turn left in 200 meters" once more i would have smashed her!!!!

Question... i have only just got this car but the maps are the original 2008... can i download (or buy a new SD card) new maps that are more recent?

the "whereis V 15" part of it is the map description.....as for the GPS cant help you there....I know a little about Garmin, I own the nuvi 760...bit old now but up to date and serviceable if you had that I could have guided you to a few spots

I would go with what Kevaclone has given you!

Sensis/Whereis maps for Igo/Primo devices are now up to V19. V15 is way old and will have heaps of new roads missing on it.

If your map file is called Australia.fbl then you can replace it with the latest V19 map that you can get from the place that kevaclone mentioned.

Or another place is http://fixmygps.info/forum/showthread.php?tid=2429

don't forget to download the latest POI, Speedcam, 3D and DEM files

there is an Aust petrol 3D file that shows up pics of servos when you are getting near one, always handy

the DEM file is an elevation data file that shows the terrain around your location. Handy if you want to be aware of hills and dips in the road ahead, especially on unfamiliar roads

Speed cam and POIs are self explanatory.

I'm going back there again next July and have connected the unit to TomTom Home 2 and it downloaded something. I'm guessing that it didn't download the latest map, as they usually ask you to pay for that. Can I get the latest map from the underground site?

this reply is a bit late but in a FG falcon it should be on the passenger side under the dash around the kick panel, mounted vertically
