Nah mate, we have it wrong, ford is kicking goals ATM the ads in recent years are brilliant and the sales charts prove it !
Seriously though I know some will flame me for this but fords advertising has been woeful in recent years,

the ad seems ok to me, but i would be more interested in seeing actual testing and proof of durability and reliability, even though it doesn't really prove long term reliability.... it looks good.

i would much rather see a short clip vehicle actually proving itself rather than being told by a babe it it is better because ........

I must admit I don't have a problem with the ads. The obvious benchmark target for anyone trying to compete in anything - whether it's sport, business, selling cars, whatever - is the perceived best team or market leader. I don't believe Ford really think they're going to sell as many Mondeos as Toyota does Camrys, but if they were to make some buyers at least consider something different, surely some will be converted.

At least the ads are using facts, rather than trying to make a Toyota "woo hoo" exciting, which really is close to false advertising.

Whether it works is a different story, of course. It may well be that the market still prefers the idea of "zoom zoom" and "woo hoo reliability".

I think the ads are borderline childish but I don’t buy on ads alone so if they get your attention then that’s half the job done.

In Fords defence the ads must have had some appeal because prior to hitting the media, focus groups are used to determine average reaction and if it was bad then the ads would never make the cut.

Their long term success will be measured by sales figures.

Anyone who doesn;t buy a car purely because of the annoying woman in the ad is a tyre kicker who prolly wouldn't buy any new car anyway.

Good on Fords Marketing team! I wish they were around 5-7 years ago and maybe they wouldn't need to close local production.
