Default Scruby Attacks iPod: "It's a lethal device"

Did anyone just see 10 news. They interviewed that waste of oxygen.

He claims people will begin dying if he doesn't crusade to sony and Apple and tell them how bad their devices are when crossing the road. Whatch him decide to campaign for non iPod laws...

Funny, They never had a problem when Walkmans, Discmans, and MD Players were big in the 80's and 90's..... That guy is retarded, he should have been a headjob...

i wouldn't worry. i think most people realise he is a head case now and media outlets will just be going straight to him when they want the most right-wing comments for their story. he's a media tart and i can guarantee, a blatant hypocrite.

I remember the last (cassette) Walkman I bought had instructions that told you to exercise caution when moving around outdoors with it on. The problem is there are too many retards here now from all over the world with no common or road sense. They are not used to roads, etc. and live in their own world and we need a law for everything because anything that happens is the government's fault because they are too used to living in a dictatorship to take responsibility for their own actions. iPods are over rated - they were only marketed because Apple couldn't sell enough of their **** computers.
Scruby is an intelligent man with a genuine concern for fwits that I myself think deserve to become a victim of their own stupidity. He's not retarded but 80% of the general public seems to be these days.

How can he still hold a "reputable" name? Can't the media just ignore the old fool? It's just getting silly.

Hmmm I wonder whether it's the fact more pedestrians actual listen to i-pods and other electronic devices.

I wonder who will be the first one to sue a company over the unknown dangers of walking and talking on a mobile or listening to a MP3 player and crossing a street.

"I was like listening to the Black Eyed Peas and like I totally didn't know that like the little man was like, you know, red and I was like, oh - my - God! There's like this big car and the driver like ran me over like totally. And he was like in my face about like honking his horn and I was like I was totally listening to 'My Humps' so like now I'm suffering from all this major Post Traumatic Disorder and I like can only eat mash and gravy from KFC. Yeah."

If they can't use their ears to listen for traffic, then they should use their eyes and look for it. They should be doing this anyway.

Never mind the bloody i-pods, its clowns like this Harold Scruby character who'd have us out of our cars and into 25cc Vespa's before you could blink. And don't even mention anything to do with 4WDs, V8s, turbos, or sports cars of any description.....weapons of mass destruction apparently.

Honestly, who is this guy? Who elects him? Who pays his salary? Why so much media air time? What's his mandate to make all these comments?

To be serious though, we might mock him and call him a head case etc, but lets remember its THIS guy and his Pedestrian Council of Australia (or whatever the hell it is) gettting all the media airtime. Not you and me. Not car enthusiasts. Personally, far too much media attention is being paid to these sort of groups, and we need to be a bit careful. Remember the old supercar scare of the 1970s which effectively put paid to the GTHOs?

There's no shartage of people and governments out there that are more than happy to legislate us out of existence.

Brent.

I think theres a difference between wanting to get the device banned, outlawed - rather then having some information to get people to stop being ridiculous.

I myself have seen too many people riding their bikes or walking the streets with them on, if your going to do that at least have enough common sense to turn them right down so you can still hear traffic.

I have resisted countless times to ride the bike with them in my ears. I know as soon as I do, I'm going to miss something I shouldn't have.

This is probably the best issue he has decided to copy and run with. Banning the use of portable music systems whilst crossing streets etc is not too unreasonable.

I didn't see the news story but he obviously took his idea from New York where the people there apparently get fined for crossing the street while talking on a phone of listening to an iPod.

Doesn't the pedestrian council and Harold Scruby receive NSW state govt funding? I would have a laugh if taxpayers were paying for this mouthpiece and his soapbox :hihi:
cheers

we listen to music in our cars and we mostly manage finely

your ears aint your eyes if most death ppl can get around without being killed then i cant see why ppl with IPODS cant do the same.

its just the minority who dream off into la la land all caught up in their own little world that get into such accidents hence why all this cap came from stats in america

He drives a Subaru Outback only to remain on the side of a Non-4WD.

I have had an iPod since 2001. I have never been hit, knocked down or been run over by another car by using one, and I have not been in a Car Accident because I have had music playing. I think we need to lynch this waste of oxygen.

Its a good think Scruby hasnt yet worked out that the 4 wheel drive and bull bar manufacturers got together and convinced Sony to develop the Ipod after they started to notice a large drop in the number of incedents where 4x4's with bullbars were scoring victims because of Harolds interfering! Ipod stands for , Industrial Pedestrian Obliteration Device !
