Default Do you think its blown??

Well this is my old clutch.

I have had many people say it is the worst blown clutch they have ever seen.
The ford service place said that it wasn't covered by warranty and they wanted to charge me $4000 for replacement parts alone. I told them I was going to go elsewhere as that is a rip off and to cut a long story short I landed up getting a textralia clutch through Craig at ACE and it costed me $2200 fully installed including all the towing of the car back and forth.
I am never taking my car back to that certain ford dealership ever again as they left dirty hand marks all over the car, scratched the car and just did a horrid job of touching it up (probably hoping we wouldn't notice), refused to fix certain warranty issues as they say all BAs are like that (does everyone else have wobbly right front side indicators), left dirty screws on my leather seats, after the clutch was fixed they said it was all wrong due to the shudder, the reverse lights weren't working and they wouldn't fix it cause they said it was due to the gearbox being put back in (which wasn't done by the ford service department) and then when we got the reverse lights fixed the mechanic said there was a broken wire from when the gearbox was dropped out (which was done by the ford service department). There is plenty more to add to this list too.

did you write to Ford to complain about the shoddy service provided by one of it's dealers?

For that matter I would even try to find time for an appointment with the dealer principal, and present your case to him......it's his name on the place.

No I didn't, probably should have but I had sort of given up after all the screwing around and my partner went off at the dealership and told them all to ******* off and that we were never taking our car there again as it came back worse than it went in everytime. We just wanted to get the car out of there. I still have everything written down so I might ring ford and tell them about their crappy dealership but I don't think they will really care.

It appears that the clutch pressure plate bolts have worked loose and flogged the cover out you can see some of them are elongated, Which resulted in the clutch not being parrallel which would have shuddered pretty badly. Next stage was the flywheel cracking in two of the bolthole locations followed by catastrophic failure of the pressure plate.
My 0.03cents

That was the dealerships favourite word. Catastrophic. They referred to everything as catastrophic.

Dont ring them and complain, put it in writing and then you can list everything, that way they have to look into it and respond to your complaint. Also send a copy to the Motor Trades Association of which they are no doubt a member, also Consumer Affairs and let the dealer know that you've complained to these groups too.
I'm speaking from experience here having gone through similar problems with a dealer here. I think I got a couple of bottles ofcoolant out of it, hooly dooly.

I still have most of the problems we had written down in writing. It would be a long letter.

I did a search and I couldn't find pictures of the pressure plate. But that is definatey a picture of my pressure plate and that happened in late January. I can post plenty more pictures and even a video with me in it if you need more proof (I still have all the parts sitting in my garage). Maybe the pressure plate let go in a similar fashion to the other picture or something.

This is the first time I have ever posted these pictures.
I did send them to Craig a couple of days ago but I doubt he posted them on here.

I'm pretty damn certain that there was a post here with almost identical damage on a almost identical car.. but it was considered that the damage came from massivly abusing the clutch?.

I mean seriously.. it's an '04 and that thing has been utterly destroyed.... i'm sorry but something seriously isn't right. I'm no mechanic or dealer principle but even i would've questioned it as a warranty job.

Can anyone find me a link to the other post? I have searched and can't find it. Will be interesting to see if maybe the dealership posted pictures of it on here.
