Default People Leaning on Cars

Took my pride out of the shed last night for a drive and stopped for a bite
anyway i came back to my car to see 2 men leaning on the left front
i say, mate does my car look like a friggen park bench?
they look at my car, apoligise and move on.

Dont people know any better?
Some people may not mind this but have respect for other peoples
property.

Especially cars that rarely see the road.

I remember my old man saw some fella sitting on the bonnet to his rs2000 whilst having a chat to his mates. So he just hit the alarm panic button and set the alarm off on the guys. Think they needed a change of pants after that one

People who lean on cars **** me off... but what is worse is when they put whatever they are holding down on the bonnet of your car, whilst they fumble around to open their car door.

My dad had one bloke put a slab of VB on the bonnet of his Landau... it slipped off leaving some nasty scratches in the paint... Dad picked up the slab, and threw it into the middle of the car park... Whilst the guy chased after it, dad grabbed this guy's car keys that he had left in his ignition, and threw them in the opposite direction...

I had someone come into my office at work and tell me that the trolley guys were upstairs, sitting on their tractor, with their feet on the bonnet of my (old) car.

I've never run up those 66 stairs so fast.

Moved the car to a more out of the way spot.

I hate it, all my friends, family and work mates know not to lean on my cars - particularly as they are almost always black.

I was on a site a few years ago when I came back to the pursuit and found the site foreman (it was a huge site) and the architect leaning on the ute. I yelled at them from about 50m away to "get off me ute" and they both gave a little smile and stayed there. I kept storming up and told them to get off in a very firm (read - rude) fashion and they both jumped. The architect apologised and the foreman spouted off. I told him what I thought about his big **** covered in concrete dust being on my black ute and told him to pull his head in. Crowd of about 5 other bloke started pulling the **** out of him and he skulked away.

Damn I hate it.

In another thread a while ago , I mentioned about a "Lady" ? who'd put carton on the front guard of my Cortina XLE , her excuse was "her car was only 3 months old " (don't know what that had to do with it) so I very politely grabbed the carton & tossed it on her car and informed her that My Car was only 2 weeks old .

Since then , my cousins son walked up and found 2 guy's sitting/leaning on his near new car (Commodore , but doesn't matter , he saved hard for it doing heaps of overtime) , He asked them to get off his car "Please" , he's a polite young kid . Well , both of them turned on him and put him in Hospital for 4 day's suffering concussion and he had to have Brain Scans because of his head injuries .

What's the world coming tooooo !!!

I have lost count of the number of supposed car-lovers whom I have seen leaning on other peoples' pride and joy at car events. It also shits me off when tossers let rip at a car event and spray stones/gravel/rubber. Shows they are in it for their egos, not the love of the car.

Ah yes... car leaners. I came out of Ford spare parts once and found a guy leaning on the rear quarter of my car while the dealer was showing him another car. Lets just say he was very apologetic when i was finished with him.

In another instance i came back to find two druggies (guy & girl) sitting on the boot of our daily with their feet on the bumper. I just approached them and looked at them in the eyes. The chick jumps of and snaps at me... "we didn't damage it your ********* d**khead". Right..

Like the bloke who collects trolleys at the supermarket, and who had a big line of them, was going to fast around a corner at the end of one of the lanes in the car park and they scraped right along the back end of a stationwagon - looked around to see if anyone saw him and calmly pushed his trolleys away... I went off my nut at him. He didnt care. Neither did the chic who owned the car who had seen it from about 50 m away.

I do get paranoid about this, especially with people and belt buckets or jeans with rivets BUT at the same time, chatting to someone I have found myself inadvertantly leaning on a car, mine or someone elses. Usually relising what i am doing and moving and appologising! Sometimes its just a habit when in a discussion and not paying attention.

Leaning on a door (specially a coupe with window down) or on the front quater when looking at the engine is the worst that someone can do!

Then the car started and i've never seen anyone jump that far in my life

My Number 1 pet hate... can't stand it. I remember having my XB on display last easter in Bendigo, some old guy was sitting on my front guard. I did the whole 'excuse me but this is my car can you get off it' and got 'oh its only a crappy old falcon'... but its MY CRAPPY OLD FALCON!!! Damn it annoys me. I find my utes have been the worst for attracting 'leaners'. But I'm not perfect either, i've subconciously lent on my utes... and then tell myself off! :

its worse when you see people at car shows touching and scraping along the side of a car.
even if its not yours you know the owner would be livid if they saw it happen

makes me cringe.

Just after I got my EF, I went with a group of Mates to Jamberoo. It was parked with a whole lot of other P Platers, however it was one of the newer cars in the Lot, with a newish 323 in there as well.

After a whole day in the Park, we all came out together, to see a toddler walking on the bonnet (and breaking the $500 stone guard). I hit the Doors and Trunk buttons at the same time, and the alarm went off, and the toddler fell off the car, but I got abused by the parents?!? It's amazing what a group of 90+ KG 19-20 year olds will do to make a defensive parent back down.

The Car got its first injury about a month later, so I was glad that I could spend the money that was to go to repairing the dents on the excess (because the cabbie refused to pay, but that's another story...).
