I saw it. I'm just glad they actually had ads for the car. Certainly better than their usual efforts of... absolutely nothing

I thought it was a great ad and shows a nice attempt by Ford to move the Ghia upmarket, where it belongs.

Why is it people think you have to have AC/DC playing in the background while a car does some donuts for an ad to be good?

Agreed, nice angles indeed! I really liked the look of it in motion from the side, really classy. I loved the front end!

Agreed.

It's the first Ford ad I've seen downunder that I'd consider classy which makes sense given it's advertising a Fairmont Ghia. Better than a bogan style ad.

Subtly clever with the use of landscapes representing flags of certain countries too, I'd add.

all those commo adds with acca dacca plying were awesome. always caught my attention. if only Ford would do something like that.

Very nice ad.... as soon as I saw it, I thought it's about time....

I like the Caprice ad better... looks cool - lets just hope that they put that puzzle together correctly.... lol.

I think a sporty ad for the new FPV range would top it off nicley... rather then just a few photo shots....

How about an ad for the XT? Show a few taxi's? A few cop cars... a few taxi's that are actually cop cars.... lol...

I agree about getting the XT some credibility, but I don't think the ad should appeal to Cabbies and Cops. They don't even think twice before buying their cars in most cases.

I guess its good to see them pushing a single model rather than the whole range in one ad. It is a bit simple, but I'd rather a simple ad, than no ad at all!! They've put a bit of effort into the Fairmont Ghia, so they're wanting to push it obviously! But I guess nothing else much in the range has has much of an effort put into it for the MK II..... Orion is gonna have to be good. I know it will be in the styling stakes, but in terms of features and standard features they'll need to pick their game up...

i dont like the bogan donut ads, but i like a clever ad, but do agree it is a fairmont ghia ad, they would be trying to appeal to upper crust pepes.
that said , it was GREAT to finally see a BF ad, been a while.

As others have said, the Ghia is a more upmarket luxury car (or at least that's their target demographic) so it would make no sense to make an ad where the car is fanging around a track or dropping donuts.

I think they've gone the right way.

That's quite a good ad, be interesting to see if it gets decent airtime on good time slots. Anybody who wants in your face ACDC and all that really needs to think about what Ford is trying to sell.

Left field: I predict the Orion mega-luxury car will be known purely as 'Ghia'. It feels like not just a spec shift is being used to reposition the car. They're trying to move it away from the 'optioned Fairmont' feel that it currently has.

New line up: XT (+ SR) -> Futura* -> Ghia (+ Ghia Turbo)
*In this scenario Futura would pick up a couple extra Fairmont 'bits'.

Sorry to go offtopic, back to the ad.

i like it

suits the car

suits the image

finally an ad since the first ba ad of the car flying around the mountain twisties to show off the handling to bring us up to the end of a new model and a fresh new look.

the european theme sells, its what is wanted these days, and that car/ad screams euro!

well done i say

I quite like it.
Very clever how those birds eye view shots form the flags of Italy, Germany and Sweden. I only noticed after watching it a few times and after looking closer at the flags that flash up at the end.

Wow. I hadn't noticed either. That's great! That makes the ad so much better!

Good spotting mate i had missed it, and unfortunitly i think most of the general public will too...

On a side note the BF Ghia looks hot, but i saw a XT the other day and it wasn't what i would call nice.

No..the Ad is classy...looks a lot better than a caprice being put together like a jigsaw puzzle..subtle...I like how they make European flags out of the landscape ...very subtle
