Default SSS Auto quality?

Anyone ever bought BA XR headlights from SSS Auto? I'm told they are cheaper, but that's not everything. I would like to know the quality. I am also told these are as good as or better than genuine... Hmmmm? Sceptical I am. I have ordered a new set through a mate in Ford spares, at $310 each. Current list price is $409 each. But if the SSS Auto ones are the goods, then I'll cancel and save a buck.

I didn't buy BA parts from there, but I did buy some clear indicators for my old ED there, the AU side repeaters I bought were genuine Ford NOS, but the front indicators weren't exactly high quality repro's, one doesn't quite fit properly and both look a little odd next to the headlights...

Customer service was pretty lame too IMO...

as a panelbeater, SSS is taiwanese made parts. they never are as good as factory items but they are normally much cheaper. genuine normally comes with globes and dust caps as aftermarket doesn't.

You should have at least approached me, the day I can't beat quoted prices is the day I retire, add to that the @20% FF discount & it's worth asking........it's up to you! :
Personally SSS isn't somewhere I'd shop for parts, I've got complete genuine FORD assy's here with everything (caps/globes/indicators & parklights) brand new in boxes.
PM me if you're interested.

You get what you pay for with SSS. Very cheap, but on some parts the fit is n ot always spot on, and coloured lenses can fade quickly.

I sell a lot of SSS Ford parts at work however, and rarely get any returned.

They do some good parts too, aside from lights & panels. I've been using their aluminium radiators and twin fans (EF-L & AU) and they are cheap & good. About to fit a SSS radiator to the missus' EL tomorrow.

Luke.

I actually used to work for SSS. I would not buy from them on principle alone. Headlights and panels are TYC - Sourced from taiwan. Quality is hit and miss, Some o.k., some bad. Dont look the same as a factory item though. The taiwanese panels are rubbish, always stamped from thinner metal than OEM.

Took a casual drive out to Doveton today. Saw The Dok, and the diagnosis was sick headlights. Prescription was 2 new headlights, sealed in box. The result was a much healthier wallet and a very satisfied XR owner.

Thanks Scott, you will be highly recommended.
