Default Aussie Troops in Afganistan

I've just been watching Dateline on SBS which has shown how 370 Aussie troops (not SAS) go about their business in Afganistan vs the Taliban.

These guys are absolute legends. True professionals & we should be proud of them.

I personally am VERY proud of them. Great job guys you are the best of the best (by miles) !!!

The show showed how the Aussies are winning hearts and minds.........they are just Brilliant !!

The Americans are despised by the locals from what I saw (sledge hammer mentality vs the Aussie softly, softly humane approach).

The Aussies gave colouring books to the local kids and other gifts, as well as a new turban for one of the local village leaders (who was absolutely wrapped !). They have a great humane attitude to the locals in their area of responsibility.

I support the Aussie involvement in Afganistan after seeing that show, but Iraq is a basket case IMO.

Good on 'em right? But you have to give some credit to the blokes and women in Iraq. It wouln't be a stoll in the park over there.

There was a great feature on the Aussie soldiers in Iraq on channel 9 news a week or so ago. Its the only good news ive seen the media portray on Iraq in the last few years.
