Default Another Rant

WTF?! Here I am at work today, and literally 15 minutes ago, I walk out to my car to go and get some lunch....I'm walking behind a Mother and her 2 Daughters...as I approach my car, I see the younger daughter swing her arm out and run her hand all the way from the front quater panel to the spoiler...

Me - 'Excuse me, but could you please not do that to my car, it's disrespectful to others property'

Mother - 'HOW DARE YOU TALK TO MY DAUGHTER LIKE THAT YOU DIRTY OLD MAN (I might point out that I'm 21, but often mistaken for late 20s, clean shaven and in work uniform). YOU CAN'T TALK TO MY DAUGHTER AS IF YOU OWN HER...WHY DON'T YOU JUST SHUT UP AND STOP WHINGING'

Me - 'Sorry mam, but I wasn't saying anything other than asking your daughter to not run her hand down the side of my car. I can't see where the problem is'

Mother - 'ALL YOU CAR PEOPLE ARE ALL THE SAME, NO RESPECT FOR PEOPLE THAT DON'T CARE ABOUT CARS. THEY ARE ONLY OBJECTS, NOT LIKE MY DAUGHTER THAT YOU ARE HURTING...I'LL NEVER SHOP AT [insert shop name here] AGAIN.'

Me - 'Ok mam, if you feel that way, have a good day'

Now, don't get me wrong, I didn't touch her, or raise my voice at her, or anything. And I know that she's not my daughter, but what happened to freedom of opinion and all that jazz...but this is a car that I spend plenty of time and money on to make sure it looks good, and I don't like to see finger streaks down the side, let alone the possibility of scratching it...

I was dumbfounded...

Mike

You have to be kiddng? WTF?

Do people even have common courtesy anymore?

I'm with you mate. You done absolutely nothing wrong, but I can believe she said that.

I hate people that treat us (Car enthusiasts) like *****, because they see a car as a object, and not as a prized posession. I have no interest in paintings or whatever, but I don't think it's necessary, to disrespect people who do like them.

i bet if the roles were reversed she would have done the same thing you did. that's crap, if she wants to let her kids do what they want at home that's great, but you don't touch other people's things, especially like that

Well I reckon my response would have been something like this if I weren’t in work gear, actually it would probably have been the same if I was in work gear.

Listen you ***** I worked ********* hard to buy my car and it cost me a lot of money, I know that Consept of working to buy something must be hard for you to comprehend, and I don’t appreciate it when people like yourself are too ********* lazy to teach your spoilt brat kids to show some ********* respect towards other peoples property.

Thats disgraceful. As a Mum of 3 kids, a) there is NO way I would allow my kids to do that, and they have been brought up to KNOW not to do it and b) if they did do and it and someone else asked them to stop, I would tell my kids off in front of the owner of the car and apologise to the owner as well.

Just another moron on the planet who happens to be a parent...

Mate you did the right thing the way you handled the situation was admirable as you were courteous and polite whereas alot of people (myself included) would have just flown off the handle.

Reguardless of whether you are a car enthusiest or not that does not give anyone the right to disrespect your property and as said before if the roles were reversed i guarentee you would have heard about it from her. In short the woman was a moron and you wont ever have to hear from her again if shes not coming back to the shop.

The woman is an idiot. She should be teaching her kids to respect OTHER's property. If its not yours, you don't touch it. Its that simple. What gives her the right to decide that her kids are allowed to touch other people's property. She probably thinks its her right to go around touching other people's property.

SILLY SILLY WOMAN!!!

I reckon.

I probably would've thrown around a few F and C words, if it was me. :hihi:

I suppose being patient is better than being a abusive *****, only making the situation worse.

I'm not that nice, you deserve a medal for that. If I didn't drop the F bomb at her, I would have scared her on my way out, revving the engine and coming at her with speed.

I know it's the wrong thing to do, but people like this get in the way, make the cencus take longer and breathe all of our oxygen. Stuff them.

Being the Father of 2 children, I have taught them to respect other property, As the owner of an Imaculate customised 03 Ba XR Turbo, It does get a bit of interest, especially from Children who want to look at a race car. A child running their hand along the side of my car is definatly not the end of the world, childrens hands are soft, at worst, might have to was a bit of choccy of the paint. If another car enthusiast, spoke to one of my children like this, there would be more than a police incident report needed.

As with a lot of young guys, this goose needs to use his brain instead of his mouth. Are you just pretending to be tough on this website SPR Jenkins, or are you able to beat up women and children in real life

Disgraceful what parents let kids get away with now isn't it.

Reminds me of once I was sitting outside a pub having lunch and a parking inspector walked up to my car to chalk the tyres, I hit the remote panic from across the street, he shat himself and quickly walked off! Bahaha

Another Tough guy, not tough enough to beat up a woman and child, will have to resort to trying to run her over.

Well, if she doesn't know where you work, if it is "only an object that cannot be hurt like her little girl", maybe a nice deep key mark on her car would be a nice little reminder.

Oh wait! How stupid of me? You have something called respect and courtesy!

Well, her kids will grow up expecting everything. Looks like we have two more Paris Hiltons on the way!

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. You wouldn't be telling that to my face, but because you are so tough, you do it from behind your keyboard...

Cite where I said I would run them over as well for bonus points. I think you will find I would "scare" them. And don't convict me as a woman or child basher. Man or woman, baby or man, it wouldn't make a difference.

I'd like to see you in the real world mate, you wouldn't have a leg to stand on with a mouth like that.
